The new Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter formula is supposed to be “finely-milled” with “sheer,” buildable payoff that “blends in easily” and eight-hour wear. This was the most pigmented–more semi-opaque to opaque–shade in the range and most shimmery. I found that the texture could emphasize pores depending on application style/coverage, so it’s not as foolproof as the other shades. I recommend using a lighter touch and a buffing brush to get the best finish out of the product. It is also significantly different in color to Sin eyeshadow, which is more pink-based (I compared to a split-pan I have of Sin as well as one in the Naked palette). The texture was soft, smooth, and blendable, while the highlighter wore for eight hours on me before fading.

That fact that the dupes I have are darker make me super excited to get my hands on this one. I’ve honestly never like any of UD’s highlighter products before so I’m happy about the quality and shade of this one.
It’s my favorite that they’ve done – it is similar to their blushes, so if you like those, I think you’ll like the highlighters. They are just more shimmery overall.
I think I really really need this one. Its so pretty ?
I hope you can try it sometime, Johanna!
Stunning! I like that it’s warm, but not too warm, like a white gold color.
It is a nice color!
It’s pretty, but I think there are other colors in the range that would suit me better.
A little money saved 🙂
Wow, this is a shimmery one! Can only wear this on a “good pore day” –good thing I already have 3 of the dupes.
Good pore day, ha! Hopefully those are frequent 😉
It looks like a super shimmery, amped up version of Laura Mercier Matte Highlight 01! Or at least how LM MH looks on me. I like this one,but I also love Colourpop Lunch Money for a far less expensive way to get that light, bright glow. Seriously getting Lunch Money…. eventually.?
I can see it being similar to the LM shade, just way more shimmery!
I’m not sure if I like this one. it’s really metallic and that can make me look old-ish as much as I hate that . I’m going to need to see this one in person. Are these going to stores?
Yes, these should be! They are part of the regular summer launch, so they’ll be all over.
Thanks! 🙂
Thanks for the review! Sin is one of my favorite eyeshadow colors, but this doesnt look like the eyeshadow at all… As you said, sin is more pink based. I dont know why they name the same if its not the same color! Still pretty though! Thanks!! xoxo
It was bizarre to me as well, Mariana! I swatched it and immediately went, “This doesn’t look like Sin… am I remembering wrong?” but it’s quite different.
Sooo pretty! I think I’m going to end up with all three highlighters.
Nice!
Do you have Fireball yet? I think it’s pretty but I’m worried it will be really orange on my cheeks and make me look sallow/sick.
No, not yet. Phyrra Nyx has it on her site, and she’s really fair-skinned, if you want to check out what it looks like on her.
It looks absolutely gorgeous-like the perfect white-gold! I have my eyes on all three of th enew UD highlighters as a birthday present to myself :S
Aww! 🙂 Great gift!
Just gorgeous!
It is pretty!
This is one of those gorgeous quintessential champagne shades. Looks beautiful on you!
I was wondering have you tried any of the Artist Couture Diamond Glow powders? They have some really unique highlighting colors. Double Take-golden peach pink shift highlight, Mermaid Fantasy-blue/green highlight. etc.
I would love to see some reviews on them!
Sorry, I have never heard of those before!
I really like that one, I tend to leave that level of shimmer for the eyes or lips but I might be able to pull it off. A huge emphasis on might.
Looks a lovely highlighter, if I didn’t have any dupes, I’d be all over this!
Sooooo pretty! Looks beautiful on your skin!
This is a beautiful shade and it looks lovely on you Christine.
I really like this. I just got Aura and love it so I’ll probably end up buying this one too!
Beautiful highlighter
This is my fav. highlighter, and I have a lot! This gives me a natural brightening shimmer, and I can always pull this off. Looking forward to trying the new glow kit from Anastasia, but this one is gonna be hard to beat.
Happy to hear you’re enjoying Sin, Helena!
I can’t decide between Sin or Aura! I have very, very fair skin with cool undertones. Which do you think would be better?
Aura 🙂
Thank you for answering so fast! <3 that really helped me out! 😀
