Urban Decay Peace Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches

Urban Decay Peace Eyeshadow ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “bright turquoise shimmer.” It’s a brightened, medium sky blue with a pearly sheen. This kind of blue makes me think of a “warm” blue but it’s still not warm-toned–but it’s almost as if this is the closest blue can be to being warm. Sugarpill Afterparty is darker and less shimmery. UIrban Decay Unhinged is darker, cooler-toned. Make Up For Ever #25 is lighter, more silver-ish. Maybelline Tenacious Teal is slightly darker. MAC Blue Candy is bluer and more matte. Urban Decay Clash is brighter and has slight sparkle. theBalm Great Gonzo is very similar.

Peace is fantastic!  It’s richly pigmented with true-to-pan color.  The texture is soft, buttery, and dense, so it feels like silk and glides on like butter.  The color is easy to blend and apply, and there were no issues with fall out or fading during wear.  It lasted a full nine hours when I tested it without fading or creasing.   It’s been really fun discovering more of Urban Decay’s permanent range, because it reminds me of why Urban Decay eyeshadows are so popular.

I really wish Urban Decay sold just pans of their eyeshadows. As I was getting the official color description to write the review, I kept thinking, “People would own so many more of these if they were sold as pans for like $13.” I also think more brands need to discount if you buy in bulk; like if you bought five or ten at once!

It’s so nice to see you review this, Christine, as I have been wearing this shade for years and absolutely love it. I get what you mean about it being ‘warm’ – I’m BB Warm Natural and this is one of the few blues that looks absolutely beautiful on. And makes brown eyes pop!

This shade is a deluxe eyeshadow in the deluxe eyeshadow palette too. I actually used it form my fern and blue eye shadow look today and it’s fabulous! I paired it with UD Money and Graffiti.

I am with you with this, it’s more ideal I think with something you enjoy to do.

I like the bulk discount idea….I only buy palettes because $18 for single eye shadow is insane! I’d love to use their new palette system if they gave a discount on shadows purchased at the same time!

Or, they can *at least* provide the actual palette for free! Seriously, empty palettes from most brands cost about the same as one shadow…

I like this color quite a bit!

Totally agree on the whole pan/bulk thing. Those are the two reasons why their palette system is so disappointing–I can’t get the least bulky solution (plain pans, thin form or free form palette) AND there’s no break for springing for a full-size palette + the shadows to fill it at the same time.

It’s a shame, I’d probably own even more UD eyeshadow if I didn’t have to pay for the useless outer packaging and break it out of there any time I wanted an individual shade. As it is, I own one UD single that I bought at full price–Mushroom–and it’s a versatile neutral that only ever seems to get included in premade palettes where I own all the other shades!

I really love the bright blue paired with the green like that! Surprisingly, I only own one UD single shadow (and one palette–Naked, of course :P), but it’s the old formula. I always mean to go check out the UD counter I always, always get sidetracked 😛 Must definitely plan on that sometime soon!

Hi Christine!
I don’t know if this is only happening to me, but I can no longer see your “Temptalia Recommends”, why? 😮
Other than that, this is a simply beautiful and fun colour, I love it :3
