Urban Decay Rule34 Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss
Here’s a look at the last three glosses from the new Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss range! You can see the first three here and second set of three here. To recap, Urban Decay Rule34 Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss ($20.00 for 0.13 fl. oz.) is a new (and permanent) formula that’s supposed to be hydrating, comfortable to wear, high-gloss, and creamy. They have a light, creamy consistency that is non-sticky (but does gradually get a smidgen tacky after two to three hours of wear) and comfortable to wear. It’s hydrating, lasts between three and four hours, and is scented with sweet mint. The only downsides are that some glosses settle into lip lines or apply unevenly, but it depends on the shade.
Rule34 is described as a “medium brown-nude.” It’s a medium brown with a subtle rosy tint and a cream finish. The color coverage was semi-sheer, and the gloss applied evenly and didn’t settle into lip lines. It wore well for three and a half hours. Marc Jacobs Beauty Heart Shaped (308) (P, $28.00) is shimmery. MAC Everlasting Nude (LE, $19.50) is more opaque. Chanel Genie (P, $32.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches.
Streak is described as a “coral-peach.” It’s warm-toned, medium peach with a cream finish. It had semi-sheer color coverage, and it applied evenly for the most part. The gloss lasted just over three hours on me. The difference between this and Rule34 are pretty slim when applied. Marc Jacobs Beauty Heart Shaped (308) (P, $28.00) is shimmery. MAC Meteoric (LE, $20.00) is darker, pinker. Chanel Nakkar (P, $29.50) is shimmery. See comparison swatches.
Walk of Shame is described as a “pale nude-pink with subtle micro-shimmer.” It’s a light-medium, pinky-peach with subtle gold micro-shimmer. It had semi-sheer color payoff when applied to lips. It just barely settled into lip lines, but you couldn’t tell from a normal viewing distance. It applied evenly overall, and the gloss wore well for three hours on me. bareMinerals Dazzler (LE, $18.00)is similar. MAC Richer, Lusher (LE, $20.00) is pinker. MAC Kiss Me Softly (LE, $20.00) is similar. MAC Boy Bait (P, $20.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches.

I may or may not have facepalmed a bit at UD using Rule 34 as a shade name. Well, at least the shade itself is pretty. XD
Makes me feel old, but I didn’t have any idea what it was until this morning!
It’s something you better off not knowing, really. XD To be honest, I only knew because I’m friends with some people who used to hang around 4chan a lot.
i am old! i had to google it and i wouldn’t have known it was a thing if people weren’t commenting on it.
You & me both, Beka, lol! I am feeling my age right now.
You see, Christine, I’m pretty sure we’re the same age. XD We just hung around with different crowds, I suppose, I know many people way younger than me who has never even heard of 4chan, let alone read their rule of the internet.
Then again, people better off not knowing that particular dark corner of the internet, IMO. (It’s pretty hard to unsee)
Oh no, I want every single one of these new glosses (except the obviously shimmery ones). I think my absolute favorites are Rule34 and Beso.
Uh oh!
I actually really adore the packaging and have been such a fan of the UD Naked range! I am curious to try these, particularly Rule34!!
Glad you like the Naked range, Stephanie!
Amazing how much these glosses vary! Given that they’re all in the more nude range. I love some on you…others don’t seem so special. I’m getting to the point where I’m waiting to see your reviews before buying! Especially anything permanent collection! Thanks.
Thank you so much, Megan! 🙂
Rule34 looks like a great, neutral shade! Love it.
It’s a nice neutral!
I am in LOVE with the packaging! Though these are sheer they are SO up my alley. Can’t wait to pick up a few! Rule34 is for sure on the list.
The packaging definitely felt nice! And it is different from other glosses, too.
Haha I want Rule34 just for the name! The colour looks really pretty too and the formula sounds good 😀 I think UD will be seeing more of me this Spring haha xx
Thank goodness these are permanent, at least!
I laughed so hard when I saw that one of these is called Rule 34.
Major win, UD.
Seems like a lot of readers like this name!
These look great!! I love sheer glosses and the shades are so pretty!
If you love sheer gloss, these are a formula worth trying!
Did they
did they really call a lip gloss “rule 34”?
that’s slightly infuriating.
Yawn! They all look pretty much the same on the lips. Unless they are SUPER moisturizing they get a pass from me.
They are pretty moisturizing 🙂 Definitely one of the more hydrating glosses I’ve come across.
I will have to check them out when they’re in stores. Thanks Christine!
I might get Streak because I own the rest in this shade. lol But I’m not much of a gloss girl in general.
These are great! Buying ASAP
Should…should I be afraid to look up “rule 34”? I don’t know what it means, but of course now I’m curious.
I think you should be OK if you Google, there is a Wikipedia on it (it is brief)!
Just did, that wasn’t so bad. I know I’ve seen plenty of jokes on the subject, I just didn’t know it had its own rule!
The really go by their name literally naked. Not enough color for my taste
I’m sorry if you said, but what face products on are you wearing on your cheeks? They look amazing!
Guerlain Parure de Lumiere + Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Liquid Illuminator + UD Finishing Powder!
I’m so glad that Urban Decay seems to have gotten the formula right with these! I can’t stand lip products that are drying – almost especially if it’s lip gloss, because I’m thinking ‘the whole point is to make your lips look wet…yet it’s dry… zuh? ‘ 😀
I may or may not have rolled an eye or two at ‘Rule 34’s name 😛
These are super comfy to wear – definitely reminds me of wearing Jack Black Lip Balm (my #1 fave for balm) with a thinner feel and a glossier finish. Not quite as hydrating but still quite hydrating.
They are too sheer for me. If they were like the Rimmel Apocalips, I’d really consider buying them, just because I love the colors so much, but the color doesnt even show up so I’ll be skipping.
Mmmhh… am disappointed. My lips are darker than yours, Christine, which means those will all look like clear gloss on me I fear. I expected something else of UD, they usually go for good pigment.. well I guess lots of people will like the very translucent subtle colours..
They must do well, but it’d be nice to have more variety in opacity – I like everyone feeling like there are a few options for them, lol!
