Urban Decay Lucid, Freak, Psych, Mushroom, Blackout 24/7 Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches
Lucid
Urban Decay Lucid 24/7 Eyeshadow ($19.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a bright, pinkish-white base with a green-to-blue duochrome shift paired with a metallic finish. It had mostly opaque color coverage that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out well, though it had a touch of fallout during application as it seemed more softly pressed into the pan. It lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview
$19.00/0.06 oz. - $316.67 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "high-pigment" with "ultra-smooth color payoff with maximum blendability" while being long-wearing. The brand is confusing, as they claim "up to 12 hours."
The majority of the shades I tested were pigmented--semi-opaque to opaque--with the matte finish having the most variance. The lighter matte shades tended to be thinner, more powdery, and sheerer as a result of those texture differences. The more satin-to-pearl shimmer shades tended to be thinner, too, and they sometimes applied more unevenly or had to be built up. The higher-sheen shimmer shades tended to be pigmented, lightly creamy, and blendable with good adhesion.
They wore between eight and nine hours on average, which is solid wear time but similar to a lot of other powder eyeshadows for me, so it wasn't extra long-wearing in context.
In comparison to the last iteration of the brand's eyeshadow formula, it did not feel vastly different. The mattes seemed a little thinner and a touch more powdery, while the shimmers were a touch thicker on average with some of the more pearl-like finishes having weaker coverage and felt too firmly-pressed into the pan and looked thinner on, so they weren't as flattering to wear.

Freak
Urban Decay Freak 24/7 Eyeshadow ($19.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a bright, chartreuse green with slightly more lime green base tones and warmer, more golden shimmer. It felt lightly creamy, moderately dense, and was slightly thicker overall, so it applied more smoothly with a dampened brush or fingertip as a dry brush sometimes applied more unevenly.
It had rich color payoff that stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading visibly. The color was more shimmery and warm-toned as a result compared to the original release.

Psych
Urban Decay Psych 24/7 Eyeshadow ($19.00 for 0.06 oz.) has a warmer, plummy-brown base with a duochrome shift between green and teal paired with a metallic sheen. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied well to bare skin and blended out well along the edges.
The texture was smooth to the touch, dense but not too thick or too thin, so it picked up well with a dry brush. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Mushroom
Urban Decay Mushroom 24/7 Eyeshadow ($19.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a light-medium taupe with neutral-to-warm undertones in its base and cooler, more silvery-taupe shimmer. It had a less metallic finish but was lighter in appearance overall compared to the original release.
The texture was thinner, too, and did not feel as rich or as lush to the touch as other shimmer shades in the range. It had opaque color payoff that lasted well for seven and a half hours before fading.

Blackout
Urban Decay Blackout 24/7 Eyeshadow ($19.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a deep black with neutral-to-cool undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was soft, more powdery (but also more finely-milled) compared to the original, so there was a little bit of fallout but it seemed more blendable and easier to build up, if desired. It had mostly opaque, buildable coverage that stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

Love Lucid and Freak! They are just beautiful. However, I do have the OG Freak and Leo in the KL Palette, so I’m guessing that I really my not need these quite yet.
I like Psyche a lot but, again, it’s the sort of colour I buy and then rarely use….I love the look of the shadows more in the abstract. Plus, I’ve got UD Damaged and Loaded and I think both are “close enough” to this beauty. If I didn’t already have Mushroom (I think I might have it in 2 different palettes but I’m not sure), I would absolutely buy this iteration of the shadow. It’s lovely.
Smart of them to make Lucid a single. Wish more brands would do that. May need to pick that up and possibly Freak.
I’m glad these are getting As and Bs. I was worried when I saw the reviews of their eyeshadow sticks. I will remain optimistic about UD. They may still have some good releases left in them yet.
Mushroom is the shade I most wanted UD to get right as it is such a versatile shade. I have Derailed and Damaged from Vice 2, which I do use and the taupe grey shade from ND’s Glam as well, so I feel I am covered here.
Psych, I quite like too. The shades above were generally fairly well done.
Lucid seemed to be the standout shade in the Ultraviolet palette. I’m happy they brought it out as a single that also reviewed so well. With the failures of the new eyeshadow sticks, and this new formula being all over the place, I’m really starting to get worried about Urban Decay. I used to always be able to count on their singles. I think they are going to discontinue the Vice lipsticks and reformulate them to be all vegan too.
When I first got into makeup, I was all about Urban Decay, and I held onto that Alice in Wonderland palette until it was gone (I mean, powder products expire when we’re good and ready for them to, right?). I haven’t bought an Urban Decay product in years, but I’m tempted to pick up the Mushroom single to see if 25 year old me likes it as much as my 15 year old self did.
I definitely want Lucid. It’s the one shade I couldn’t dupe , But I really wanted from the Ultraviolet palette. I have the juvia’s place violets and I think it would pair well with it .
I’m happy to see these are better than some of the other shades you already reviewed. I’m a bit sad that Freak is different from the version in the original Electric palette. Definitely one of my favorite shades.
I liked Lucid and Leo in their palettes – but only those, so it’s nice to see it as a single. I might even pick it up at some point. Psych seems ok, but I’m quite tired of redbrown/plumbrown and could use a dark coffee brown as the base to those green shifts.
Their Blackout, since reformulating way back for the Vice Anniversary palette, has been the best of any major brand since. Natasha Denona’s single black (it was like $30!) was pure garbage that went straight back to the store, and so many others I’ve tried have been thin (like Viseart), or patchy. When you need a BLACK eyeshadow, UD’s is a good choice.
