Urban Decay Lounge Eyeshadow ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “brick red with green shift.” It’s a rich, reddish-brown with warm undertones and a green-teal flash of shimmer on top that gives it a more metallic finish overall. It had good color payoff with a soft, buttery texture that worked well on bare skin and was easy to blend out. This shade felt slightly softer and not quite as dense as the other duochromes from Urban Decay in this launch. This shade was released previously in their older formula. Once upon a time, this shade may have been more unique, but now it is one of the most replicated duochrome shades. Sephora + Pantone Universe Castor Gray (LE) is less shimmery. ColourPop Partridge (P, $5.00) is a cream product, weaker duochrome. Ardency Inn Peacock (P, $21.00) is exactly the same. Kat Von D On the Road (P, $16.00) is slightly greener. Makeup Geek Insomnia (P, $6.99) is the same. Kat Von D Queen (LE) is the same. Too Faced Girly (LE, $16.00) is the same. MAC Double Feature #5 #2 (LE, $16.00) is less shimmery. MAC I’ve Got a Crush on You (LE, $32.50) is the same. Make Up For Ever ME302 Peacock (P, $21.00) has a stronger shimmer, so it appears greener, less brown. Urban Decay Sideline Eyeshadow ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “gold with green shift.” It’s a light-medium, yellowed gold with a green sheen–the gold gets lighter and darker (more orange-gold) as you angle the shade. The shift is definitely visible on the lid, but I would describe it as a moderate duochrome effect. It had excellent color payoff with a creamy, smooth consistency that applied well and blended out beautifully. The color lasted for eight and a half hours on me. Hourglass Color Field #2 (P) is cooler-toned, less shift. MAC Vicuna (LE, $16.00) is darker, no shift. Makeup Geek Magic Act (P, $9.99) is lighter, no shift. ColourPop Get Lucky (P, $5.00) is darker, no shift. Chanel Rêve d’Orient #3 (LE) is darker, no shift. Tarte Up to No Gold (LE) is darker. MAC Old Gold (P, $21.00) is darker. MAC Unwind (P, $16.00) is darker, no shift. MAC Gorgeous Gold (P, $16.00) has less shift. L’Oreal Gold Imperial (LE, $7.99) has no shift. bareMinerals Standing O (P) has less of a shift. Urban Decay Beware Eyeshadow ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “warm brown matte.” It’s a medium-dark brown with warm, reddish undertones and a matte finish. The texture is very silky and finely-milled and has really good pigmentation. It doesn’t get powdery, but it wasn’t quite as blendable as anticipated. On me, it wore well for eight hours before creasing. This shade was previously released as a limited edition product. Urban Decay Riff (P, $18.00) is lighter, sparkly. Hourglass Infinity #4 (P) is darker. LORAC Undeniable (P) is lighter. Too Faced Mousse (P, $16.00) is lighter. ColourPop Desert (P, $5.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Makeup Geek Preppy (P, $5.99) is similar. MAC Terre (Right) (LE) is darker. Anastasia Bengal (P, $12.00) is lighter, warmer. Dior Cuir Cannage #3 (P) is similar. MAC Clove (LE, $16.00) is darker. Make Up For Ever M636 Cappuccino (P, $21.00) is similar. Urban Decay Tyranny (LE, $18.00) is lighter. LORAC Unspoken (P) is slightly redder. Dior Atlantique #5 (LE) is redder. Laura Mercier Café au Lait (P, $23.00) is cooler-toned. Inglot #357 (P, $6.00) is similar. Get comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Urban Decay Riff Eyeshadow ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “brown-nude matte with floating micro-sparkle.” It’s a brightened, orange-brown with warm undertones and a dusting of gold micro-sparkle. A few of the sparkles will land on the lid, but you’ll need a primer if you want to really keep them/see them on the lid as they tended to disappear as I blended the color on the skin. It was nicely pigmented with a soft, silky texture that was very blendable and easy to use. It stayed put for eight hours before creasing slightly. ColourPop Selfie (P, $5.00) is a cream product, lighter. Sephora + Pantone Universe Chutney (LE) is darker. Too Faced Peanut Butter (P, $16.00) is a smidgen lighter. Makeup Geek Chickadee (P, $5.99) is lighter, brighter. Anastasia Bengal (P, $12.00) is darker. Anastasia Caramel (P, $12.00) is darker. Make Up For Ever S706 Milk Toffee (P, $21.00) is more shimmery. Make Up For Ever M726 Sienna (P, $21.00) is brighter. Make Up For Ever M664 Fawn (P, $21.00) is less sparkly. Make Up For Ever M650 Cookie (P, $21.00) is lighter. LORAC Nude #3 (LE) Inglot #122R Middle (P, $6.00) is darker. MAC Saddle (P, $16.00) is darker. MAC Body Conscious (LE, $16.00) is darker, redder. I know it’s not Suqqu, Tom ford nor Mac but I use Loew Cornell’s brush to apply UD eyeshadow….and I find them better than Mac Eyeshadow.

I used to use one! Way, way back when I started. It is a great shape. I don’t know if the ones I have are just worse since they’re older or not, but mine feels too rough now (well, as of three or four years ago, that is). I’m going to try to try to remember to check them out again next time I’m at a crafts store.

I’m so glad Lounge os a dupe for Girly! I hit pan on that one in my Pretty Rebel palette ans I’ve been looking for a dupe of it forever.

I’m really glad they brought Lounge back, I love the colour and it’s so much easier to get UD in the UK than most of the dupes. I also really liked the last iridescent shades in the other ones you reviewed(the blue was so pretty but blue eyeshadow still scares me too much).

I really like Beware. I have some of the dupes but I wouldn’t mind having a single around when I just want to blend something into the crease and be done. But you’re saying it isn’t all that blendable… is Buck from the permanent line more blendable? Or MAC Cork?

tzwiggy Avatar

They are all very pretty, but way too warm for my skin tone!

I love shades like UD Lounge and MAC Club, but I have trouble wearing them. I wish someone would make a shade with a cooler base and the same green duochrome (a plummy brown maybe similar to MAC Handwritten).

I’ve worn it a couple times, which is pretty good since I only got it two weeks ago and I’ve been sick and haven’t worn any make up for the last week. I like that Lounge has more green, so it’s probably going on the wish list. Thank God this collection is permanent so I don’t have to get everything at once. 🙂

These are really lovely and *almost* issue free, so far UD has stepped up with their spring eyeshadow releases! Although I most likely won’t be buying any of these four because I already own MAC Gorgeous Gold, Vicuna, Saddle, and Texture ( which reminds me of Riff?) and also own WnW Comfort Zone for a decent Lounge dupe. That said, I will be getting some from yesterday’s review. Thank you so much for your hard work, especially considering how many releases there have been this spring!

Hi Yinan,

It is in the post above in the third paragraph that starts “Urban Decay Beware Eyeshadow,” here is the relevant section copied and pasted:

Thanks for your reply, but I think I misspoke. What I meant was that the photos of the dupe list for ‘beware’ listed ‘riff’ instead. Or at least on my screen it is like that. 😀

Christine Avatar

Could you share what link you are clicking? Beware and Riff would show side-by-side as one entry on both of their respective Dupe Lists, as they are very similar and listed as dupes of each other, but I’m not sure what you mean by Beware being listed as Riff.

I’m really curious about how much the green in Sideline shows up, and whether it shows up more if it’s next to another green, or if a complementary color (like red/pink) makes it show up more. I really like Lounge, but already have Girlie. Since Lounge has both red and green in it, maybe it really brings out the green in Sideline? If putting Lounge and Sideline next to each other really brings out the green in both of them, I think it could make for a really great look. Just thinking… got to go hang out at my local ULTA, the UD artist who comes there loves to talk about ideas like this.
