Urban Decay Lit Naked Illuminated Review, Photos, Swatches
Urban Decay Lit Naked Illuminated
Urban Decay Lit Naked Illuminated ($30.00 for 0.20 oz.) is described as a “soft bronze shimmer with golden bronze sparkle.” It’s a muted, medium-dark tan brown with warm, yellow-orange undertones and gold sparkle. MAC Delicates (LE, $35.50) is more shimmery (95% similar). ColourPop Paradise Cove (P, $8.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Make Up For Ever #20M (P, $36.00) is less shimmery, warmer (90% similar). Hourglass Luminous Bronze Light (P, $52.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Hourglass Radiant Bronze Light (P, $52.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). The formula is a baked formula that is supposed to have “microfine shimmer” and the “color payoff of a loose powder, with the convenience of a pressed powder.” Urban Decay’s idea of “microfine” and “just-perfect shimmer” is much larger in particle size than what I think of when I think of finely-milled shimmer–these are more like sparkle; visible as individual particles on the skin. You can buff and brush away much of the more obvious particles, which gives the skin more of a luminous sheen, but there are still some sparkles that I can detect on the skin. The texture is thin, lightweight, and very blendable on the cheeks. The color lasted for seven hours on me before fading.

It looks great with your red lips!
Thanks, Yvette!
Agreed, great combo!
It looks very pretty on you!
Thanks, Raeanne!
I’m not a big fan of obvious sparkles, but the powder looks stunning on you , really gives your face warmth and healthy glow. I’m also liking that Armani lipstick/gloss you have on
Thank you, Katherine!
I know its about the highlighter but my eyes are fixed on your lips Christine! Such a beautiful color!
Oh don’t you loo just smashing Christine! You look so happy and gorgeous in this photo! I The short wear time and the “sparkle” is probably going to kill this one for me. I was thinking “nope” when I read the review. But, I like the swatch and your photo alone could sell this! I think I am going to have to check this out once it hit stores.
As much as I love sparkle and glitter, this looks way too glittery for me! It could be ok to wear during holiday season or out for a New Year’s Eve party but other than that I don’t think I’d get a lot of use out of it.
Skipping this one for sure, not a fan of big shimmer particles, but Christine you look SO pretty in the last picture! 🙂
i can’t wait to see your review on the GA ecstasy lacquer. it looks gorgeous!!!
I love a good golden highlight, but this is too much sparkle for me…
I wonder if this is somehow similar to MAC’s warm soul. Since that mineralize blush is $27 I think I would rather buy this one.
I think Warm Soul is going to give more color and not be quite as bright or as shimmery.
Thanks Christine!
This is my issue with the Urban Decay Illuminated products too much glitter/sparkle…I don’t want to be lit up, I want to glow…LOL…thanks for the review..
While it does look lovely applied to the cheeks, I can definitely see the sparkles in the skin swatches. Pretty shade, but sparkles in HE cheek or face products are no bueno for me!
Hmmm. Would you consider this more of a highlighter or bronzer? I was curious about this but with summer winding down, I really only wear bronzer in the fall/winter
Depends on the skin tone, really!
I agree with you on the “sparkle size”. Their highlighters seem too sparkly for me. I prefer a more finely-milled sheen. Too bad, too, because this color is pretty. Oh well, keep my money in my wallet for now.
Too glittery for me. If it was finer shimmer I might consider it.
I really like this……I think it’s looks beautiful on you, Christine!
It looks really beautiful on you Christine – suits your complexion so well. I am not sure how it would go on mine. And I love that lipstick you are wearing. Just gorgeous.
This is really beautiful! I don’t need it but I want it.
I think this is too warm and by far too glittery for me. Looks good on you, also you managed to brush away some of the glitter particles, you wrote. I’d never have the patience to do that.
Christine, thank you for doing these reviews! With all these highlighters coming out, what would you say would be some of your favorites and best quality for NC42 – 45 skin tones? (even including LE ones like BB Bronze Glow)
I think it depends on what you like? Some people want a highlighter with some color, others just want the sheen, and then there are really shimmery ones, hardly shimmery at all ones. There are a lot of personal preferences that come into play for a good highlighter!
Hi, did this emphasize skins texture at all? It looks beautiful, I’m not sure if I would use this on the cheeks and temples to warm up the skin or to highlight. Can it be used for your body as well?
Sorry one more question, but what’s better for slightly textured skin? Urban decays Lit or Bobbi brown bronze glow? 🙂 I’ll get them both if neither of them make the skin look worse or emphasize texture/pores 🙂
Bronze Glow is a little better, but the BB is still pretty intense. Use a fan brush or a feathery brush in general, and you should be good!
Thanks babe!
Answered your previous question already, I think, but yes it could be used on body!
