Urban Decay Kinky Afterglow 8-Hour Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Urban Decay Kinky Afterglow 8-Hour Blush
Urban Decay Kinky Afterglow 8-Hour Blush ($26.00 for 0.23 oz.) is described as a “light peach with light shimmer.” It’s a light-medium, peach-orange with lighter golden orange shimmer over a satiny finish. Urban Decay Video (P, $26.00) is darker, browner, less shimmery. Urban Decay Indecent (P, $26.00) is lighter, peachier, less shimmery. NARS Jubilation (Right) (P) is more shimmery. NARS Craving (Right) (P) ius darker, more shimmery. Dolce and Gabbana Desert (P, $51.00) is darker, browner, less shimmery. Too Faced Luminous Peach (LE) is brighter. Makeup Geek Smitten (P, $9.99) is lighter. Dior Amber (002) (LE, $56.00) is warmer, lighter. Clarins Graphic Expression (LE, $35.00) is lighter, less shimmery. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
As the brand promises, the coverage is buildable from semi-sheer to semi-opaque. Unfortunately, like Score, the performance fell somewhat short. The texture shares the same soft, smooth, and silky consistency as a lot of the other blushes, but the shimmer and sparkle don’t seem to bind with the powder, so it doesn’t translate onto skin and gives it a slightly drier overall feel. Aside from the sparkle, the powder was still easily blended on the skin and had a soft, satin-matte finish applied (with almost no visible shimmer). On me, the color wore well for seven hours before fading slightly. The other thing I noticed is that applied, it tended to look a lot like Video, just a bit warmer, and I think they could have created a more differentiated shade.

Interesting colour as a blush. I could see this being a nice bronzer for pale people who tan a bit in the summer!
I bet that would work!
This looks really pretty on. Honestly,I am liking these blushes. But,generally,I do prefer a blush that will wear a bit longer that 8 hours, at least 8.5 is what Is look for in your reviews. I know these promise 8 hours so that is what they are grade on. But, I’m not sure if I’m too impressed unless there is one that is really unique to my collection. I think I would certainly chose Video over this one. 7 hour wear- time..no. Definetely not good on a hot sweaty day.I just wonder why they are calling it “all day wear” at 8 hours. Most people have a longer than 8 hour day.
I’d think that all day is really about 9-10 hours – +/- to/from work or school, though eight hours of good wear still means you can likely get another couple of hours of decent wear.
Okay..that is good to know because as blushed out as I am at this point I do really like some of these shades but the wear time has been getting to me. 🙂
Like Video and Kinky but I only need one for my warm skin.
Agreed!
Not exactly what I’d call a kinky shade but pretty nonetheless!
It’s a pretty color for sure!
I like the look of Video better, but I am surprised they didn’t include a more obvious contour shade. Missed opportunity there!
Me too!! I totally agree that it’s a missed opportunity.
this really compliments your coloring!
Thanks, Dani!
I like that UD came out with blushes and gloss collection at the same time. Kinky blush looks complimentary to Liar gloss.
Tons of new products for summer!
This looks like a pretty blush for fair/medium complexions. Seems like it’ll add a touch of warmth and glow
It should!
Hmmmm…it’s really yellow. I think this is a pass for me. I’m glad to see UD doing offbeat colors like this and Bittersweet.
It is cool to see a few different shades!
Sad the sparkle didn’t translate.
Me too! 🙁
Is this close to kat von d Wish which was recently discontinued? It is a beautiful color and I’m trying to find a close color please!
I don’t think I have that 🙁
