Urban Decay Flash Eyeshadow
A couple of weeks ago, I was going through our Urban Decay Eyeshadow gallery, and I noticed we were missing a few shades from the permanent range–which was something that needed to be rectified!
Urban Decay Flash Eyeshadow ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “bright iridescent purple shimmer.” It’s a medium, cool-toned purple with a medium, frosted finish. It had good color payoff, and the texture was soft, smooth, and buttery. It wore well for eight hours before starting to fade. Tarina Tarantino Violet Storm #5 (LE) is darker. Fyrinnae Snowboarding (P, $6.80) is more iridescent. Kat Von D Babe (LE) is warmer. theBalm A2 (LE, $16.00) is slightly warmer. Urban Decay Betrayal (LE, $18.00) is lighter. Illamasqua Trance (LE) is a cream product. Inglot #441 (P, $6.00) is darker, brighter. See comparison swatches
Urban Decay Psychedelic Sister Eyeshadow ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “deep amethyst shimmer.” It’s a medium, plummy purple with subtle warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It had semi-opaque color payoff–could have been more intense–but the texture was soft, smooth, and easy to blend. The color wore well for just over eight hours. Dior Lilas Mitzah (176) (P, $29.00) is darker. Urban Decay Vice (LE, $18.00) is darker, less warm-toned. Sugarpill Hysteric (P, $12.00) is brighter. See comparison swatches.
Urban Decay Woodstock Eyeshadow ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “saturated deep pink shimmer.” It’s a vibrant, medium-dark fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a soft, frosted finish. This shade lasted for nine hours before showing signs of fading. Sugarpill Smitten (LE, $12.00) is slightly brighter. Too Faced Bright Eyes (LE, $16.00) is a smidgen darker. Too Faced Totally Fetch (LE, $16.00) is a touch brighter. Fyrinnae Superstar (P, $6.80) is brighter, cooler-toned. Urban Decay Noise (LE, $18.00) is more muted. MAC Tease with Ease (DC, $21.00) is darker, warmer, less shimmery. See comparison swatches.

I adore Flash! I have it in a pallet and only wear it on occasion, but it’s just a pop of purple color that looks fabulous. I’ve not been able to find a suitable dupe that’s as pretty and well, as purple!
It is a really lovely shade! What do you normally wear it with, Stacey?
I use Maybelline bad the bronze as a base and just pop a bit if flash along my lashline and slightly blended in the outer corner. it’s just enough but not too much. With liner and mascara, it’s totally work appropriate too. I’m wimpy when it comes to bright eye shadow, I normally wear neutral colors, so having a little purple there is a lot for me!
How pretty is that combo! I wouldn’t have though to use Bad to the Bronze!
I’ve got Woodstock in a palette (Mariposa? I can’t recall as I never use it! – BRIGHT PINK eye shadow? Not great for me, though I’ve used it as blush in past!) and I’ve got Psychedelic Sister in BOS 3. I like it very much. I’ll have to check Flash, as I don’t think I own or have even tried that one.
I can definitely see Woodstock being a lesser-used shade 😉
Flash looks so delicate and pretty! 😀 I have the Psychedelic Sister eyeliner, which I love, but I have to admit, I was (because of the eyeliner) expecting a bit more from the eyeshadow!
The eyeshadow could be more pigmented!
The interesting coincidence here is that just this morning I was trying to find colour accurate pictures of Flash and Psychedelic Sister, haha. Thank you!
YAY!
Love the shimmer that Psychedelic Sister has looks like a good non brass wearable purple.
It has a nice finish!
I like it! Wouldnt suit my colouring as purple seems to wash me out a bit but on someone a little less yellow skinned than me it would look great.
When did UD drop the price on these?
Sorry, I forgot to change the price/sizing from the last post (I use the same outline).
I thought maybe it was some sort of special pricing if you fill a palette, which would be a nice move on their part!
I just went through my depotted shadows and realized I have Flash… Is that a sign I need to go on an eyeshadow no-buy…?
LOL! It could be… but I would ignore it 😉
Or, I could look at it as a sign to use my “custom” palettes!
I love Flash and Psychedelic Sister!
They look surprisingly similar in the pans but swatched, very different!
I love the sheen in Flash and Psychedelic Sister! They’re both so gorgeous!
Flash is so pretty!
They’re .05 oz, not .4 oz. That would be huge.
Fixed – sorry, I forgot to change the info!
Loved all the 3 shades esp Flash and woodstock!
They’re all really fun shades to play with!
I’m really drawn to Psychedelic Sister!
It has a lovely level of warmth without making it a true plum!
I got Woodstock in a palette (Original Vice, I think). I found that the Woodstock in that palette was crumbly and didn’t have great pigmentation. It didn’t have even payoff like the one swatched above. Kind of stinks…it’s such a lovely pink but the one I have is a complete dud.
Oh no, that’s horrible! I don’t remember having problems with Woodstock in previous palettes, but I know this one is of the reformulated variety.
Also! Have you tried using a damp brush with your Woodstock? Might smooth it out a little. Most UD eyeshadows can be used wet/dry!
Flash and Psychedelic Sister are so beautiful! Love them. I have Woodstock in a palette and use it very rarely in the outer crease or under my lower lashes. So glad you’re reviewing it so I can maybe learn more ways of using it…
It pairs really well with gold, orange, and purple!
Woodstock looks so pretty. The first two as nice as well, but purple isn’t my colour. I mean love purple, just not on me 😛
At least one of them appeals 😉
Psychedelic Sister is gorgeous – which is a surprise to me because I don’t typically go for purple eye shadow.
I like that it’s not too plum!
Estee Lauder Violet Underground eyeshadow palette came in my mind .
That was a lovely palette!
Psychedelic sister looks so beautiful and interesting
It has a lovely sheen!
Woodstock is beautiful….any suggestions on how to make it truly wearable?
You could try pairing it with champagne/beige and using it with a lighter hand – maybe layering a matte beige over it.
