Urban Decay Faint Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches

Urban Decay Faint Eyeshadow ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “warm, dusty brown matte.” It’s a medium-dark brown with subtle warm, tan undertones and a matte finish. bareMinerals Namaste is grayer. MAC Wedge is a bit warmer. theBalm Sultry is lighter.

It originally debuted in the Naked Basics Palette (so not that long ago), and if you fear running out of it or you loved it but not enough to pick up the palette, you can grab it as an individual color. Overall, Faint is a very versatile neutral, and it was definitely one of the best shades in the Basics palette, because it can work on a variety of skin tones.  I didn’t re-test this one, since it just came out two months ago, but when I originally tested it, the shade lasted for nine hours without fading or creasing (no primer).  The texture is soft, finely-milled, and had excellent color payoff–the individual pot did seem a smidgen powdery, though.  The blendability, however, is top notch, and I didn’t notice any fall out from the powderiness during application (I did try applying this pot of shadow, I just didn’t keep it on all day).

I have the basics palette. I use it every day, with this particular shade in mind. Once the palette is empty I will probably purchase this on its own.

I’ve never had any creasing with any of the UD NAKED palette shadows, including this one (via the Naked Basics palette)…with or without primer as Christine mentioned.

I’ve worn the naked basics palette and after 5-6 hours of wear they crease, and this was with stay dont stray from benefit. So I’d say that if you’ve experienced creasing I would just expect the same.

I love this in the Naked Basics palette! I can’t recall if Naked Basics is LE or not…but if it isn’t I probably would just repurchase that palette since I use all of the shadows in it so the value is better, but otherwise I would definitely pick this up as a backup.

Since I started using this too fill in my brows, I’ve been getting compliments on how good my brows look… Didn’t change the shape my my brows or anything, just switched from an eyebrow pencil to this eyeshadow.
