Urban Decay Revolution High-Color LipglossUrban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is a new formula for summer that will be available in fourteen shades. The gloss is supposed to have “high coverage” with “all the color you crave in one coat” with a “creamy” texture and is hydrating. I’m about halfway through testing the shades, and this grouping represented a good mix of my results.

The majority are fairly pigmented, though I don’t think they’re “one coat” color as most shades have some visible translucency so the natural lip color will still come through. All of the shades have a really smooth, almost gel-like consistency that feels creamy but light-medium in thickness. For the most part, they don’t slide around, and initially, they feel smooth and non-sticky, but the formula gradually gets stickier as it wears. If you do nothing, it takes about two hours for some of that tackiness to develop, but if you blot or take a sip from a cup, it starts to get tacky right after. I consider most of the wear to have moderate tackiness but the texture isn’t thick or goopy, so it doesn’t catch stray hairs as much as a thicker gloss.

However, as they are tacky, they wear longer than the average gloss; I’ve routinely been getting four to six hours of wear. It’s also hydrating over time and comfortable to wear overall (so long as tackiness doesn’t bother you!). Some shades do not apply evenly and look streaky or blotch on, while others go on really nicely and look fantastic. I was surprised to see that some of the more problematic shades are ones like Savage and Bittersweet (to-be-reviewed), while lighter shades like Liar (to-be-reviewed) go on quite well. There seems to be a very faint scent of buttery vanilla, but I can barely detect it even with my nose right at the tube as I twist it open, so it’s not a strong scent and not one I notice when I’m applying or wearing the gloss, and there is no discernible taste.

Urban Decay Big Bang Revolution High-Color LipglossUrban Decay Big Bang Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “bright pink with glitter.” It’s a medium-dark pink-red with fuchsia shimmer. It appears redder on the lips and loses some of that bright fuchsia applied. The shimmer is fine enough that it doesn’t add a noticeable texture to the gloss, even as it wears away. The consistency seems slightly thinner compared to the cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied fairly well, while the color stayed on for six hours and was hydrating over time. I noticed a smidgen of color that settled into lip lines, but with the gloss formula, it was easy to press lips together and even it back out. Urban Decay Vice (P, $22.00) is slightly darker and less bright but surprisingly similar. Chanel Crazy Fuchsia (194) (LE, $29.50) is more shimmery, warmer. Revlon HD Pink Ruby (515) (P, $8.99) is brighter, more shimmery. NARS Sixties Fan (P, $26.00) is less shimmery. MAC Glam (LE, $15.00) is less shimmery, brighter. Chanel Tocade (182) (P, $29.50)is lighter. Maybelline Caviar Couture (050) (P, $8.99) is darker, less shimmery. MAC Lust for Life (LE, $15.00) is darker, warmer. Urban Decay Savage Revolution High-Color LipglossUrban Decay Savage Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as an “electric pink.” It’s a brightened, cotton candy pink with strong, blue undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque color payoff that didn’t apply evenly. The gloss tended to look streaky and uneven. It wore well for five hours and was moderately hydrating while worn. Urban Decay Scandal (P, $22.00) is much darker. Estee Lauder Rosy Future (LE, $26.00) is darker. Revlon HD Tourmaline (510) (P, $8.99) is brighter, cooler-toned. MAC Unlimited Style (LE, $15.00) is more shimmery. NYX Sugar Cookie (P, $5.00) is slightly cooler-toned. NARS Priscilla (P, $26.00) is brighter, darker. MAC Fearless (LE, $20.00) is warmer. Urban Decay Crush (P, $19.00) is darker. MAC Style Packed (LE, $15.00) is is more opaque. MAC Silly (LE, $15.00) is warmer. Buxom Berry Blast (P, $19.00) is darker. Urban Decay Scandal Revolution High-Color LipglossUrban Decay Scandal Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “bright pink.” It’s a bold, brightened medium-dark fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that covered fairly evenly, but there was very subtle streaking that you can see in the close-up that wasn’t noticeable in person. It lasted for six hours on me and hydrating while worn. Estee Lauder Rosy Future (LE, $26.00) is warmer. Revlon HD Tourmaline (510) (P, $8.99) is cooler-toned. MAC Ultramarine Pink (LE, $30.00) is slightly darker. NYX Sugar Cookie (P, $5.00) is lighter. NARS Priscilla (P, $26.00) is slightlyw armer. MAC Pink Poodle (By Request) (LE, $15.00) is more shimmery. Urban Decay Crush (P, $19.00) is less glossy, cooler-toned. MAC Style Packed (LE, $15.00) is lighter. Awwww, I used to LOVE the super minty scent of UD’s old Lip Junkie glosses. I was hoping these would be the same! :/ The colors are pretty but kinda goopy looking. So many brands make opaque glosses that are good about being thin and smooth, I think I’ll pass on these.

These are very smooth, for what it’s worth, and definitely not goopy! They’re tacky, but not goopy/heavy.

I’m excited to see some of the other colors, specifically Apocalypse (lol) These all look great on you!

The formula seems perfect for when I’m too lazy to put on a straight-up lipstick! Looking forward to upcoming reviews for other shades.

I’m loving the look of Scandal! Glad to see that it did pretty well. Looks like I’ll be adding that to my list! πŸ˜€

Not as good a performance from Big Bang as I was hoping, but not enough to put me off, either. I usually prefer gloss that is a wee bit sticky as I tend to find it more hydrating as well as longer-lasting. Not Lipglass sticky, as that just ends up all over my glasses after my hair sticks to it, and few things irritate me more with a lippy! But a little tackiness is good, in my book.

Also, sooooo happy about the minimal fragrance. Do you remember the Pocket Rocket glosses a few years back? The gloss itself was okay, I seem to recall, but the supposed “creme brulΓ©e” scent was *awful*. I hardly ever used the one I had because the smell was so strong and lingered forever.

Does it seem strange to you that a tacky gloss is more hydrating? I always feel like those really creamy, comfy glosses should be, but I rarely find they’re hydrating! Yet a tackier one seems better.

I almost thought these were unscented, but after opening six of them all in a row (with my nose right at the opening), there seemed to be something sweet/vanilla but was sooo subtle.

I think that the tackier ones form more of a barrier, so it isn’t so much about them adding more hydration than the slippy ones, but that they allow less moisture to evaporate off the lips.

Subtle vanilla is fine. I can cope with MAC lipstick, so I can certainly cope with subtle, lol.

Glad to see these are performing well so far. I don’t mind some tackiness if it actually stays on And hydrates! I can’t certainly see me adding quite a few of these to my wish list. Thanks for reviewing! πŸ™‚

The Scandal color is really pretty in the tube and on you. Any suggestions on an affordable liner that would go with that one?

Hey Janine!

Not super familiar with lip liner shades (it’s one product that I don’t review often and I can’t seem to retain any shade info, lol), unfortunately!

These are def not full coverage, indeed. Sticky is bad.

I have some lipglosses i paid 10 lei for (2.5 $) that are opaque, even the extremely nude shade (too pale even for me lol) so i wouldn’t ever pay that much for smth like that
. I’m just bummed they smell weird, just like a fabric softener my father used to wash our clothes…apparently with lavender flavor. Lol.
They look good even when i have chapped lips but when i do have very chapped lips, they don’t wear off as well and leave a white ring (pretty logical but still…there’s no perfect stuff for me, i guess – price counts for me….although i hand swatched some clinique, estee lauder and guerlain lipsticks and i wasn’t impressed…i was impressed with mac creme d’nude, nice, it lasted, i didn’t even feel it on but my lips were soft and blankety was very soft and pretty and moisturizing but it sadly disappeared from my lips quickly…the sheen supremes are very bad, streaky and with a single rub of my other hand disappeared).

I’m torn apart betwheen cosmo, modesty, fast play, fanfare and creme in your coffee cause i want a dupe for one of my mother’s old avon anew lipsticks that i love but it’s been discontinued for a while.

These look divine. Your lips look so juicy with these. I really feel like UD are upping their game at the moment, something that excites me as I feel their range lacks some serious colour lines other than eyeshadows.

Hopefully they’ll add more shades in the future! I think a lot of times it’s about creating a good basic range πŸ™‚

They’re gorgeous! Big Bang, wow that takes me back… Big Bang Lip Gunk was my first non-drugstore lipgloss back in the day. πŸ™‚ The glitter was gritty (which i loved) and it tasted like cinnamon sugar, high school me loved that stuff!

I really like Scandal out of this group. I know I’m cool toned but I think this shade will wear better than HD Tourmaline on me with how pale I am right now.
