Top 5 Shimmering Bronze Eyeshadows

Reader Maha requested my top five picks for bronze eyeshadows, and here we go! 🙂 This was a tough one–there are SO many fantastic bronze eyeshadows on the market. You can see a few more shades that didn’t quite make the cut here.

  1. Maybelline Downtown Brown — golden bronze
  2. MAC Bronze — red-toned bronze brown
  3. Giorgio Armani #6 — deep, golden bronze
  4. Inglot #409 — medium-dark bronze
  5. bareminerals Cognac — metallic bronze

What’s your favorite bronze eyeshadow?

Out of the top of my head, Laura Mercier Sand Glow! A lot of bronzes are too warm for me (it’s not really a skin tone thing. It’s more like preferences haha), but this one has the right amount of warmth to stop it from making me look ill!

Nice picks! Shimmery bronzes might be my favourite shade/finish of eye shadow. MAC Bronze is definitely my most-used brown shadow and I also love Bare Escentuals Sex Kitten Glimmer 🙂

…and what is your reddish brown top 5? 🙂 I think this colour is gorgeous on brown eyes but it’s not so easy to find in my opinion!

I love L’oreal Infallible eyeshadow in Bronzed Taupe!! So creamy, buttery, pigmented, and shimmery for a powder eyeshadow!!! Love, Love Love!!!

Can you believe it – I don’t own MAC Bronze! But to your list, I would have to add UD Smog (if that counts as “bronze”) as well as MAC Cocomotion Pigment (LE) and Too Faced Cloves (I think it’s from the Smokey Eye palette; it is absolutely GORGEOUS-O)

When it comes to Bronze shadows, I have yet to come across one that doesn’t perform extremely well. I think the same way some shades in particular products are inherently bad, there’s just something about Bronze that just translates well into shadows. Unfortunately, it’s just not the most flattering shade for me…

I have to say Bronze is definitely one of MAC’s better eyeshadows, nicely pigmented with a smooth and creamy texture. I love bronze eyeshadow on other people, unfortunately they all look very yellow on me, and make me look tired and sick.

yes, there are a lot to choose from, but my all time favorite – go-to bronze shadow is MAC Tempting. I don’t wear a lot of the bronze shadows, it makes me look like I’m not feeling well, but Tempting mixed with other colors (blues and greens) does a nice job.

Thank you Christine! Dark browns give me an undead look so I gravitate more toward lighter or cooler shades. I’ll use almost any color except pastel blue and the darker browns so bronzes are a little iffy. The Giorgio Armani is gorgeous. This really helps a lot.

I love ‘ore’ by Illamasqua (pigment)
I also love ‘toasted’ by Urban Decay, and ‘bad to the bronze’ (color tattoo) by Maybelline
