Too Faced Tropical Punch & Sweet n' Sour Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Tropical Punch
Too Faced Tropical Punch Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.23 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark magenta purple with warm, pink undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, and it dried down to a fully flat, matte finish within 20 seconds. The texture was fluid without being too thick or too thin, but the way it dried accentuated the look of lines and texture on my lips, which caused it to “crack” over time. On me, this shade lasted for over six hours but was very drying after three hours of wear.

Formula Overview

It is supposed to apply like a gloss but dry to “an ultra-matte, opaque finish” that is “never dry, shriveled, or cracked” that should “last for hours.” Most of the shades are unforgiving once they dry down and emphasize lip lines, look “cracked” if you smile, though they feel lighter-weight than they look.
It’s one of the more unflattering liquid lipsticks I have tried as many shades highlighted lip lines, and while the lipstick itself wasn’t extremely clingy, there was a dryness present there that, at times, made my lips tingle/ache.
For me, the wear was between four and six hours, as a lot of the shades faded unevenly and were faster to breakdown than the average liquid lipstick. The formula is thin, more water-like (reminded me of ColourPop’s formula but sometimes thinner) with a fairly quick dry-down time.

Sweet n' Sour
Too Faced Sweet n’ Sour Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.23 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark orange with warm, red undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a slightly thinner texture, which made it a bit harder to apply evenly–I had to dab and push at it while it was drying down to get it to even out, though I was able to do so, at least. The color stayed on well for over six hours but felt fairly drying within three hours of wear.

Pretty colors but the drying factor makes it an easy pass for me. Liquid lippies are just so unflattering a lot of times cause of how dry they can be. I really don’t like Kat Von D’s formula so far and probably won’t buy another.. just looked so bad from the one I have tried. It was like putting a layer of white-out on…but with color. I wish to color my lips.. not paint them.
It’s hard to wear something so drying!
Drying 🙁
🙁
Woman, you were damned generous. These look like 24 hours of Jack Black is coming.
They were definitely drying!
Yeowch! These sound harsh in the drying department!
Gratefully, the “dupe list” bailed me out from the one I *did* like; Sweet n’ Sour. Having CP Cozy, UD Tilt already, plus Bite Pare Amuse Bouche Liquified now on my WL, no need.
Dupes for the one I didn’t, too! One I love: UD Bittersweet, and one I don’t, KVD K-Dub.
They are definitely one of the more drying formulas I’ve tried lately!
You have nice lips, but Tropical Punch looks just horrid on it, looks drier than the Sahara 🙁
