Too Faced Pineapple Paradise Strobing Bronzer Highlighting Duo Review & Swatches
Pineapple Paradise
Too Faced Pineapple Paradise Strobing Bronzer Highlighting Duo ($30.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a new, permanent pairing of a gold highlighter and mid-tone, warm brown. I’ve always been a fan of satin finishes in cheek colors, so I loved how the bronzer sat on my skin once blended out–natural but not metallic. Both shades were more pigmented than not, but the brand described them as having “buildable pigment” and they’re somewhat buildable but would require using a lighter hand (true of very pigmented products in general) to achieve more semi-sheer coverage. They were easy to apply and lasted for eight and a half hours on me.

Pineapple Paradise (Highlighter)
Pineapple Paradise (Highlighter) is a soft gold with warm, yellow undertones and a frosted finish. It seemed to have slightly larger shimmer when swatched, but as I applied and blended it out on my skin, it was rather smooth and more luminous than frosted/metallic–it actually seemed aptly named “strobing!” The texture was soft, slightly drier to the touch, but it yielded opaque coverage in a single layer (unfortunately, not buildable as they said!) but was easy to apply less or sheer it out if less coverage was desired. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours on me before fading slightly. It had a sweet, pinapple scent that wasn’t noticeable after 10-15 minutes of applying.

Formula Overview
-
The formula is supposed to have "buildable payoff" that has a "soft-touch, silky" texture. The pigmentation ranged from medium to mostly opaque, so some shades were truly buildable and others had to be used with a lighter hand (or less dense brush) to achieve sheerer, buildable coverage. The consistency was smooth but firmer in the pan, but with a typical highlighting brush and a medium hand, I didn't struggle to pick up product, so it was more in the vein of "not powdery" rather than stiff. The powders blended out easily, sat well on my skin, and lasted for eight to nine hours on me.

Pineapple Paradise (Bronzer)
Pineapple Paradise (Bronzer) is a medium brown with warm, yellow undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that was buildable to full coverage with a second layer (it was supposed to be buildable). The powder was smooth, firm but not stiff, and didn’t have any excess powderiness in the pan but did best with a moderately dense brush than anything airy/feathery. It applied evenly to bare skin and blended out easily along the edges for a seamless blend. The finish was satiny–noticeable glow but not overtly shimmery on my skin, especially as I blended and sheered out the coverage. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading slightly. It did have a sweet, pineapple scent to it, though it did not seem to linger for long after I applied it.

Much prettier applied than simply swatched by far! Do I need it? No, not at all. However, I’m sure many who don’t have dupes will love it.
This set looks really lovely and both shades complement each other very well. I like the finish too.
Wow, this is beautiful!
I like this very much on you Christine. It beautiful. This reminds me of Trish McEvoys duel bronzer, which I have had for years, & am just about finished with it. I use it instead of blush sometimes. I will definitely check this out! And, most likely purchase this.
It is beautiful!! I’m going to the store to check them out. 😉
