Tom Ford Summer 2015 Lip Color Sheers Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Tom Ford Lip Color Sheers
For summer, there are four shades of Tom Ford Lip Color Sheers ($50.00 for 0.10 oz.) to choose from, but note that Paradiso and Sweet Spot are repromotes, as they were released last summer as well. The formula is supposed to give a “lustrous sheen of color” and be hydrating. Some shades are sheerer while others are nearly opaque but appear less “heavy” compared to the regular Lip Color formula. In general, they have less shine and more color than the Lip Color Shines. The formula has a vanilla scent but no discernible taste.
Tom Ford Paradiso Lip Color Sheer ($50.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium pink with warm, yellow undertones and a soft, luminous sheen. It had mostly opaque color coverage with a lightly creamy, lightweight texture that glided on easily. It wore well for five hours on me and was hydrating over time. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Tom Ford Rose Soleil Lip Color Sheer ($50.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a muted, plummy brown with lighter gold and pink shimmer. It had semi-sheer color coverage with a soft shine. The underlying color seemed to apply a bit unevenly, though the shimmer distributed better. It lasted for three hours on me and was lightly hydrating. It was surprisingly similar to Bittersweet, just lighter and less brown-based. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Tom Ford Skinny Dip Lip Color Sheer ($50.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a pinky-peach base with lots of gold shimmer that gives it a more metallic sheen. The texture is a little thin and not as emollient as I’d like, so the finish was as luminous with this shade compared to the other three. It had semi-sheer coverage with mostly shimmer coming through. It stayed on for three hours and was a lightly moisturizing. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Tom Ford Sweet Spot Lip Color Sheer ($50.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a brightened, light-medium coral-orange with warm undertones and a soft shimmer-sheen finish. It had mostly opaque pigmentation that glided on fairly evenly and smoothly. It seemed a bit less glossy compared to the tube I have from last summer. It wore well for four hours and was moderately hydrating. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Darn; I was hoping for A grades on these! BTW that TF cheek look is simply stunning on you!
Thanks, Raeanne!
I think it depends on what you’re looking for. Like Paradiso and Sweet Spot are really quite nice as long as you’re happy with them having a lot of pigmentation vs. actually being sheer!
I have Paradiso and I really love it, it’s such a pretty shade.
It’s such a great pink!
Thank you for the reviews! I think I will be skipping these. I ‘ve only ordered the golden peach shadow duo so far, and am still on the fence about the palette. It looks beautiful on you, but I’m not sure I could pull off the reddish plum shadows .
No problem, Jill! 🙂
Paradiso looks like a beautiful spring and summer lipstick but it’s pretty dupable. Outside of the packaging it doesn’t seem worth the splurge
Thank goodness it is dupable 🙂
I’ve been looking out for your review of these. I’m sooooo tempted by Rose Soleil. It looks like what I wanted Pink Dune to be (which is, I know, a pretty different color). PD is too light and frosty for my complexion and naturally dark tinted lips. I have Guerlain Gracia, and I should just wear it more! But that darn Tom Ford has me wrapped around his little expensive makeup finger! I did pre-order the Golden Peach eye duo. I regretted missing Pink Haze once!
Man, I feel like you have the better version with Gracia – I mean, Rose Soleil has more noticeable shimmer, but I think Gracia just looks better on (finish/texture).
Thank you! You just saved me $50!
I’m so confused and hope you do a roundup on this collection. I like that new format, BTW. At the TF price point my expectations soar when it comes to quality. I get the concept of lips that are more sheer for summer, especially given those gorgeous cream/shadow duos. But, new to the brand, it seems that the lipstick is the most inconsistent in quality. So what to get?
I like their lipsticks, but I prefer Guerlain’s at this price point – TF aren’t bad, but the shades are less unique. Rouge Gs just have that luminous/pearly finish that wears longer than a lot of your typical lightly glossed lipstick formulas, so that sells me.
I pre-sale ordered them all. I am completely okay and happy with them being sheers. I do wish they would have done a little better in the grades. I think they all look stunning on you. I think Rose Soliel and skinny Dip, I expected to be very sheer and the SA I spoke with actually suggested layering them over the other two. I’m fairly new to Tom Ford. These will be my first sheers so I’ll give them a try.
I think you will like them if you’re not so concerned about sheer/not sheer! 🙂
Wow, these colors are so perfect for summer. I think Paradiso looks great, but for $ 50, the others could be a little more pigmented, but then again, these are summer colors. The gold shimmery ones would work well on top of another lipstick. Love the eye look you did, goes great with the lippies.
It’s such an odd formulas, because they really should all be sheer, lol!
Good to know that I don’t need Rose Solei! I have Air Kiss and love it, so don’t need a 50 dolar dupe. Pfew!
Yay! 🙂
Also, from now on, if I won’t buy high end nothing unless it performs outstandingly, or the shades are unique. I don’t think that is at all a wild expectation, or is it?
I don’t think so! I mean, if I was a regular customer, I would buy either more unique shades/formulas OR ones I’d use often in a really superb formula.
That eye and cheek look is out of this world.
Thank you!
I cannot believe Paradiso is already not available at Nordstrom. 🙁 that was the one I wanted.
They are pretty summer colours – and they look gorgeous on you. Love the peachy colour.
Thanks, Genevieve!
Paradiso is the only one I really like. I have three of the dupes, so I guess I’m not missing out.
You are covered, Rachel 😀
These all look good but Sheer Streak looks like a reasonable dupe for my fav at 1/2 the price!
There ya go!
