Tom Ford Santal Blush Eau de Parfum Review & Photo

Tom Ford Santal Blush Eau de Parfum

Tom Ford Santal Blush Eau de Parfum ($195.00 for 1.7 fl. oz.) launched a month or so ago. After the first spritz, I get hit with a tidal wave of musk. Then the sandalwood really comes through and spills over the musky undercurrent. There is also a floralness around the edges; for me, subtle enough that it doesn’t resonate as a floral scent, because on me, the woodiness seems to prevail.

I’ve only briefly tested some of the other scents in the Tom Ford Musk Collection–as in on cards at stores–and found the musk to be too much, but I found Santal Blush to be a much better match for me as I like musk but in more restrained doses. I think Santal Blush nails that–you definitely need to give it a moment to settle (it goes from too much to balanced within fifteen seconds), because it seems like it is too much initially but softens quickly.

Half hour into wear, it’s creamy and woody but spiciness from the cumin emerges from the background to play softly with the sandalwood and musk. Once we stretch past the hour mark, it is a delicate mix of sweet and spicy, musky and woodsy scent that’s warm and creamy. It wears beautifully and well on me; at full strength for eight hours and then subsides over the next twelve–it lingers faintly against the skin the next morning but has mostly worn away.

I love this! Smelled it at Neiman Marcus last week and almost brought a bottle but since I have so many perfumes and it’s expensive I waited.Such a creamy sensuous sandalwood fragrance, unusual in a sea of fruity floral scents. I also liked Jasmine Rouge from Tom Fords private blend collection.Hoping in the future they will be discounted, but I may cave and buy Santal blush for the holiday season.Gorgeous!

this is why I dont read perfume reviews. nothing personal, and its a lovely description, but I have no clue, its like another language. after reading I have even less of an idea what this smells like.

It’s hard to understand what a perfume smells like when you have no idea what its constituent notes smell like (what the hell is lily of the valley, and what is its scent? The Internet can only tell me half of what I want to know)! That’s my problem.

I’m a big Tom Ford fan. Already have Black Orchid and decided to try Santal Blush at NM a few weeks ago. LOVE IT! I’m saving up for that one since it is a bit pricey.

Ahhh….i went to NM to return a bottle of perfume i bought couple of weeks ago and instead of just going home i started trying on some other perfumes like new ” fendi” , but really wanted something else from Tom Ford ( “black orchid ” smells really nice and i got quite a fewcompliments on it) ,so i tried the Santal Blush and after sweet Fendi and other fragnraces this one really cought my eye so…i purchased it.then two hours later i met up with my husband and asked himif he liked the scent and…( thinking it was only a sample ) he said he didnt like it, according to him it smelled ” funky”. I know i liked it,but oh why why my husband ruined it for me?!!!! Right now i am sitting at home smelling it and slowly not liking it, but money is spent,no way back….maybe if someone else ( hubby’s oponion is pretty important though,he is the one smelling it on me constantly….) tells me it smells great i will feel better. My husband” s friend said ” i like it, smells kind of hippyish…but in a good way!”….ummmm….hippyish?
