Tom Ford First Frost Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
First Frost
Tom Ford Beauty First Frost Eye Color Quad ($88.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a new, limited edition warm-toned quad featuring a light beige, pink, soft brown, and darker brown all with a shimmer finish. They were the gel-powder formula, which tends to be more consistent (and higher-performing) for the brand, which was true here. All four shades were pigmented, though they were easy to use dry as well as wet; using a wet brush amplified the finish to something shinier and color went slightly deeper.

First Frost #1
First Frost #1 is a very light beige with subtle, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single applied dry, which was fully opaque when applied with a dampened brush.
The texture was smooth, moderately dense, slightly firmer but not stiff to work with, so the product picked up well with a brush and had good adhesion that helped the product “melt” onto my skin for a seamless look. It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

First Frost #2
First Frost #2 is a medium pink with moderate, warm undertones in the base color and warmer, more golden shimmer that gave it a metallic finish. It had rich color coverage that applied evenly to bare skin regardless of whether I used a dry brush or a wet brush.
The texture was soft, smooth, and more yielding than the other three shades, so it seemed a smidgen powdery in comparison but was still very easy to work with, didn’t have fallout, and had that “melted” finish applied. The color stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

First Frost #3
First Frost #3 is a medium brown with subtle, warm undertones and slightly cooler, almost silvery-beige shimmer throughout paired with a metallic finish. The eyeshadow had opaque color payoff that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out nicely along the edges. The texture was soft, smooth, and dense without being too firmly-pressed into the pan, so it picked up easily with a dry brush. It lasted well for nine hours before fading a bit.

First Frost #4
First Frost #4 is a medium-dark bronze with moderate, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had intense pigmentation that picked up well with a dry brush, though a dampened brush yielded slightly deeper, shinier color, that applied evenly to my skin. The texture was smooth to the touch, dense and firmer but not stiff. It wore well for eight and a half hours before showing signs of fading.

Oooh, I do like this one. It is very Tom Ford. It would wreak havoc with my textured eyes, but I can appreciate it would look spectacular on someone else.
Finally, this is THE ONE. I always thought that eventually one would come out that I could not resist. And here it is. I’m totally in love with First Frost!
Looks far better dry than Honeymoon does, too!
Absolutely in love with this palette. One of the best in a long time for me. I mat have to mix the crease color with a matte if makes my eyes took old.
A well rated quad, but I am not sure about the shades included: the first shade seems far too pale and whitish, whilst shades 3 & 4 look to be too similar for inclusion in a quad. To me, the hero of the quad is shade 2 – a really beautiful medium pink.
this looks so stunning beautiful…. but the price is something to think about for me
This looks like a really lovely quad… though I could never shell out $88 for it; that would be so painful!
What a beautiful color combination! It reminds me of an elevated version of Wet n Wild’s old “Sweet As Candy” trio (now quad?).
I don’t plan to buy makeup at Tom Ford price point, but this reminds me how much I love this color combination with shimmery textures. 😊
The general colour story reminds me of a Maybelline quad I had as a teenager – Designer Chocolates. I loved that thing! Now I can relieve my teenage years with something bougie! Upon reading your good review I’m glad I picked this up.
I really like the look of this palette. I love the top two shades and like the bottom two a lot, but as it is with TF for now, it’s out of my economic comfort zone, so I’ll just admire the photos and hope all who buys it will love it.
