Tom Ford Escapade & Pink Haze Cream Color for Eyes Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Tom Ford Escapade Cream Color for Eyes
Tom Ford Escapade Cream Color for Eyes ($40.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “pearlized peach.” It’s a warm-toned, golden peach with a frosted, slightly metallic, sheen. bareMinerals Aspire is more orange, darker, and a powder eyeshadow. MAC Angel Flame has a slight pink tone to it and is a powder eyeshadow. bareMinerals Stealth is more orange, matte, and a powder eyeshadow. Buxom Collie is more beige, less orange/peach, but is, at least, a cream product.
Pink Haze ($40.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “pink with peach tones and gold pearl.” It’s a pink bronze–pink, warm, slightly coppery–with a frosted, metallic finish. MAC Magnetic Attraction is redder, less pink (and a powder). MAC In the Sun is browner (and also a powder). MAC Red Hot Copper is much redder, more coppery. MAC Mythical is browner and a powder eyeshadow. Chanel Abstraction is more glittery and less warm-toned. Chanel Harmonie du Soir #3 is pinker, less warm-toned (and a powder). MAC Jete is similar when this is applied sheerly. Make Up For Ever #16 is more metallic, so it also appears quite a bit lighter.
Tom Ford managed to create a cream eyeshadow formula that is so lightweight that it looks and feels more like a mousse than a true cream eyeshadow. It’s not thick or solid like a lot of cream eyeshadows, and instead, it is movable and can slide around the pot if you tilt it. And applied? My goodness, it’s impressive. It glides on like butter, spreads evenly and smoothly over the lid, and blends out effortlessly–and then it sets and sticks around for twelve hours perfectly. No flaking, smudging, fading, or creasing whatsoever. It was impressive from the color payoff–totally opaque but just as easily sheered out by using less–to the texture to the wear. It felt like magic on.
I feel like it spun magic around me for feeling like it is worth the cringe-inducing price tag, but I would buy it. This, I would buy (and honestly, I considered buying one as a backup, but I managed to talk myself out of that). I wouldn’t buy just any shade, but if it was the right shade for your skin tone, it just might be worth the splurge. (For reference, both of these are absolutely stunning on warm, medium complexions!)

Ooh! Pink Haze is gorgeous! I think it’s worth the splurge. 🙂
I need to find a store that carried this in Toronto or something. Escapade is calling me.
Holts on Bloor will probably have it.
Unfortunately I live in the GTA and they don’t sell Tom Ford anywhere. Only lipsticks in the Holt’s on Bloor 🙁
I live in Mississauga, Getting it shipped to a friend in Maryland 🙂 who will ship it to me . So far I have ordered the following lipsticks: pink dusk, scarlet rouge, true coral : the new lip laquer pink lust , escapade and pink haze. I own only 1 tom ford lipstick and I loveeeee it. The texture is creamy.
FYI fellow Cdn beauty lovers: If you are routinely wanting to buy cosmetics which do not ship to Canada, you can set up an account with a number of US address providers. I take advantage of the free domestic shipping provided by most of the major department stores, ship to the US addy, and then group my purchases together to ship one time to my address here in Canada. No, it’s not the cheapest method, but it is easier than trying to track down HTG items here.
And at least you only have to pay shipping once and can get more of a volume/weight discount since it’s multiple things within a box!
Too shimmery…. Pass
oh, how I want that pink! I was ogling these a couple of days ago, how did you know? 😛
I just bought it today, Escapade!!! I was debating, should shouldn’t I??? because, as you said it correctly, this would be better for warm complexion, and I have a fair to medium skin tone…So I was not sure, hell yeah I am gonna like this product, but if it will stay in my drawer, what for?? But then, I cave in, and hopefully, I’ll get tanned here and there, maybe it will be nice on me too!! ;-))
I hope you love it!! I’m sure you will find a way to work with it!
Hi Virginie,
I’m NC15 and have no problem wearing both of these shades.
Wow. Really beautiful.
Sigh! I’m longing for Escapade from afar! It is so gorgeous. I’m so annoyed that no one will ship Tom Ford to Canada.
Holt Renfrew on Bloor carries TF. Give them a call.
Thanks! Good to know being out west. 🙂
Ooo Escapade looks like what I always hoped Benefit’s Moonbeam highlighter would look like as a shadow. I wonder if you could use this as a highlighter for your cheeks…
There actually is a highlighter in the collection that is a pretty much a dupe for the escapade cream color eyeshadow, but I think more expensive for the full bottle. It is more liquid than the eyeshadow as well, but I don’t see why you couldn’t use the shadow with a really light touch and the right brush.
Thanks for the info! I’ll definitely check that out and compare.
Pretty. $40. Hmm. I dunno. Nah.
Mmm it looks beautiful but might be too warm on me. I bought GA ETK in no 9 rock sand and its like a bright orange on me! boo!
I wish i’d bought platnium last year!
I don’t follow what you mean, I feel like you left something out:
“I wouldn’t buy any shade, but if it was the right shade for your skin tone, it just might be worth the splurge. (For reference, both of these are absolutely stunning on warm, medium complexions!)”
I just mention it because I’m quite interested in this, but I’m rather pale with largely neutral but slight pink undertones. I normally wouldn’t spend so much, but I’m a Ph.D who just finished the longest academuc year of her life (and last sociology class ever, both sad and happy).
Hi Sara!
I mean that I wouldn’t buy just ANY shade – like I wouldn’t buy a shade that didn’t work 100% on me beautifully at this price point 🙂
Oh, okay. I read it three times, and I just wanted to know any warnings you might have at $40 a pop, ha.
Just that it’s gotta be a shade you love and would use often. 🙂
Both of these are amazing! But I would probably get more use out of Escapade.
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I am going to buy this.
Never spent $40 on eyeshadow, but that Pink Haze is gorgeous… I might have to splurge!
Geez, what am i doing wrong?!!! I hear everyone raving about these yet i have consistent creasing with both colors. I am so disappointed! Please, someone tell me what technique I need to use to get the results others have.
One of the colors that came out — it was a bronzy shade — didn’t wear so well on me, but Platinum and these two have been fine. 🙁
I´m madly in love with Pink haze, it´s so gorgeous, worth it´s price tag, now if I could find a store with Tom Ford makeup here.
Almost 48 hours ago, my computer completely blew up and now I’m in new computer H E L L with Windows 8 making me blow a brain gasket.. I’m finally back up and running and yes, more than a bit on the grumpy side, so it was with pleasure that this is the first review I catch on my first visit back to Temptalia on my new ‘putrrrr.
I picked up both of these when they were released and most irresponsibly before reading a single review, so I was relying on TF quality to make this worthwhile leap of faith. I’m thrilled with both of these cream shadows and I have been wearing them daily. I’m particularly in love with escapade. It has such a gorgeous goldy magical shimmer. Both of these can be layered without feeling thick and gooey and they look great as a simple eye with a touch of highlight and a gel or liquid liner. Not a surprise I’m finding both of these fantastic as the same product in Platinum has been a personal fav since its release.
ComI Really Wanted To Buy These But I’m Cool Toned.
I wish he would just make these cream shadows permanent.
And it’s nice they don’t use a “TF” sticker on the lid now! It was just so cheap looking before.
Yes – so glad they made it a legit label and not a sticker!
So sad Tom Ford beauty aren’t sold here in the Netherlands! I always love their products!
Wow, love it. Not been a fan of cream eyeshadows in the past because they are usually thick and difficult to blend. This looks workable 🙂
Dang it…I’m always hoping when I see pricey products like this that the results won’t be worth it. But wow are these pretty–I really like Pink Haze. I don’t have anything like it in my collection and I’m glad that it’s a bit darker so it adds a subtle definition on the eyes. But wow the price tag…:/
Pink Haze reminds me of the FLOWER Beauty cream eyeshadow in Geranium something, I reviewed it recently (their names are a little wordy so I can’t remember it exactly, but the product is BEAUTIFUL). Escapade has to be one of the prettiest products I’ve ever seen
Ohhhh pink haze is calling out to me
Escapade looks really pretty!
Wow, Escapade is beautiful. Too bad I can’t afford it…
Pink haze is gorgeous and the. Formula sounds amazing! I’ve never seen TF in Germany either. 🙁
I wish these were sold at a place with free shipping. Saks is the only place i could find it online and there isn’t one near me . But Pink Haze is totally the top of my shopping list. Hopefully it doesn’t sell out by Saturday.

I bought these yesterday and I was wondering how you applied them. With a brush or just fingers?
I used MAC’s 249!
Thanks a lot Christine!
If anybody knows how I can order this PLEASE let me know! I’m in the US. So far I have not found it anywhere online that carries it. I am interested in Pink Haze. Thanks!
Call a Neiman Marcus counter. They will check their database, and order it from any store that still has it in stock. Doreen Wallace at the Dallas counter is an absolute professional. 1-800-765-5784, extension 2120
These . . . oh, these. I adored the colours, and had always wanted to dip a toe into Tom Ford, so while at the Dallas Neiman, I played with them. They’d just sold out, so no harm, no foul POSSIBLE, right? Wrong. From the instant you touch these, you want to wear them, to play with them, to experiment. They are everything anyone could want in a high end product. Hefty, luxurious, perfect. Needless to say, my sales associate had them ordered for me, and I’m now living happily-and 80 bucks more impoverished :D-with my new babies. If they’re in your colour sweet spot, splurge. It’s worth it.
I’m glad you were able to find them… even if they did a number on your wallet!
