Formula Overview
-
The new Creme finish is supposed use "lush emollients" for a "crease and flake-resistant finish" that is "long-wearing" and "one-swipe" in application. It feels like a cream-to-powder formula but with a ratio of more like 35% cream to 65% powder, as there was a more emollient feel by touch but a stiffer brush could produce a little kick up when swirled in the pan.
The magic was when the formula was applied to bare skin, though, as it "melted" in a way that made the finish appear more seamless and skin-like, smooth without emphasizing skin texture or lines. They applied just fine using typical eyeshadow brushes and application methods that I would have used for a traditional powder eyeshadow.
The pigmentation ranged from semi-opaque to opaque, depending on the shade, but most were buildable if they weren't fully opaque in "one swipe." I found the eyeshadow formula very easy to apply and blend out, too. They lasted between eight and nine hours on me before fading a bit.

Ever so *slightly* closer to “pink”! Not quite, but guess what? This quad would be in VERY heavy rotation for me if I go for it!
This is my perfect neutral/natural quad of eyeshadows.
Wow – that is pricey!
Very pretty! Crazy price!
It’s quite a subduded kind of quad for those who prefer their eyeshadows to be that way. But I don’t think it is anything really special though.
You said what I was thinking! N°4 is nice, but I’m sure I can dupe it.
I cannot think of a more poorly named eye product than one that includes the phrase “Forbidden Pink Eye!”
LOL!!!! You’re so right!
And that is the second thing that came to my mind! LOL!
Not sure anything should be called ‘forbidden pink eye.’ Though banishing conjunctivitis is not a bad idea. I think the draw is the new formula, because oldbies have these colors by the truckload and the newbies might find it cost prohibitive.
Forbidden Pink Eye? Nice naming, Tom Ford. Nice naming.
The actual quad’s fine, but the name? “Pink Eye”, really?! Was marketing on vacation when they prepped for launch?
Is Tom Ford not an English-based company? Did they not think it weird to call a palette “Pink eye”? Errr…
Well, the palette is called “Forbidden Pink” and the product is “Eye Color Creme Eye Quad!”
