The Summer Season: MAC Fusion Pink Lipstick

MAC Fusion Pink Lipstick ($14.00 for 0.10 oz.) is truly a retina-burning kind of pinky-red.  I wanted to put some shades on when I was editing this in its original size, because I swear, my eyes were like, “Hey, this is rude!”  This shade is a cross between a vibrant reddish coral and iridescent fuchsia pink.  It’s almost as if the base is this ridiculously bright red-coral with an iridescent fuchsia sheen that further blinds you.  This is most certainly not a shade for those who don’t dive headlong into color!  Heads up, it’s a PRO shade, but anybody can order or shop at PRO stores.

Is this the right pink for you? Would you wear it?

The Summer Season is a series of posts featuring bright, vibrant shades of coral, orange, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for a summer of fun — that runs through July 2010.

Christine, it looks gorgeous on you and your beautiful dark coloring, but I would look like a clown wearing that with my fair skin. I think those with a tan (or those that are quite confident) could pull it off nicely!

I LOVE it!! As a girl who strictly rocks neutrals, I’ve been going crazy for colorful lipsticks lately. I swear that I’ve been naughty with colors because of this blog (thank you!). I guess I decided that my makeup needed to be more vibrant so I’ve been dabbling into the world of hot pinks, bright pinks, reds, and whatever is in between. I realized color is not the threat, it’s just fun! By the way, you make it look gorgeous (so now I feel obligated to buy this one!).

That colour on you is super pretty. I actually don’t find it rude at all (as in too bright). Love love love. I might pick this up for dance competitions (where bright lipstick is a bit of a must). Think this would look good on my NW15 skin?

I’m probably in the minority here, but I actually quite like this colour. I may have to add it to my arsenal.

Christine, Do you happen to know how it compares to Utter Fun? I picked that one up last fall, and I’ve used it about two times. It’s just sooo bright! They look like they might be similar.

you can sure rock a bright lipstick this is a little to metallicie for me lol but it looks great on you can you reccomend some good corals sheer to opaue and not too bright i know the right coral would look nice with my skintone and hair but i have yet to find the right one

Pretty pretty! It reminds me just a bit of the Hello Kitty Big Bow lipstick, except with better coverage and no glitter. Okay, maybe they aren’t that similar. But they both have that fuchsia glow!

Hi Christine, how does Fusion Pink compare to Impassioned? I have Impassioned and it turns neon bright on me to – I wonder which of the two is brighter 😀

Love it! But exactly how do you get your hands on this lipstick? To buy online at MAC Pro you must be a member, as in a pro MUA with credentials. Will a regular MAC store or the MAC counter in a department store order this? More info, please.

Ordering PRO isn’t too bad if you haven’t got a store (I don’t there is only one in London) I have rung up and ordered MAC PRO (not sure what number it would be in USA but i just rang a store and it had an option for phone orders)they are really helpful and its just like a normal person you dont have to be anyone special!

What finish is this? Am I missing it? Just wondering in terms of how drying or moisturizing it is, cause the colour is stunning! Thanks Christine!

Love love love this colour. I am NW15 and into brights, love Impassioned and Lady Danger (although as matte find LD a bit too drying). Picked this up today @ the MAC Pro Store in London and the best bit was I got it with ‘Back to Mac’

I’m gonna be purchasing two of these lipsticks (one to use and one to keep forever), since this is the lipstick that prompted me to visit the MAC Pro store, which resulted in my discovery of the MAC Pro Student Card. Today I’m gonna make copies of all of my paperwork, and tomorrow I’ll be sending in an application! Yay! 😀

I’d be interested in any dupes, if you know of any. Same price point or less. Just easier accessibility. Or maybe something a couple shades lighter?
