Becca Light Chaser Highlighter
Becca Light Chaser Highlighter ($34.00 for 0.23 oz.) is a new, limited edition powder highlighter that is supposed to be “the perfect marriage of kaleidoscopic colour and light” that give the skin “an otherwordly glow.” There are six shades in the range, and a few of them have more of a visible shift in person (less so in photos) while others just seemed like a typical highlighter. From the brand that seemed to put highlighters back on the market with their Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed formula, the formula lacked the finesse in texture and blendability I would have expected from Becca. The texture varied from shade to shade with some being drier, looser, and less blendable to smoother, more blendable, and fairly good as a tinted highlighter/subtle blush.
Becca Liquid Crystal Glow Gloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is a new, limited edition formula available in six shades. Becca describes it as “gemstones melted into liquid form” with a “mix of unique pearls” paired with a “conditioning” formula. In general, the formula was more like a sheer to semi-sheer gloss with moderate pearl, sometimes with more nuance and other times was more like a traditional, shimmery gloss. The formula was lightweight, thin, lightly tacky, and comfortable to wear but only lasted two to three hours. For most of the shades, I detected the scent throughout the wear but only tasted soapiness with one (Topaz x Gilt). The glosses were less shifting in their shimmer/pearl as they were just sparkly and mirror-like in shine.
Becca Opal Flashes Jade Light Chaser Highlighter ($34.00 for 0.23 oz.) is a warmer, light beige with a moderate, greenish-gold shift that became warmer and cooler as the angle changed. Read full review.
