Terra Moons Phoenix, Red Giant, Saturn's Rings Iridescent Chameleons Reviews & Swatches
Phoenix
Terra Moons Phoenix Iridescent Chameleon Shadow ($17.00 for 0.05 oz.) has a transparent base with multichromatic shimmer that shifted between pastel orange, warmer gold, and aqua-blue paired with a metallic finish. The texture was soft, smooth, and blendable without being too softly nor too firmly-pressed into the pan. It had opaque pigmentation that stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview
$17.00/0.05 oz. - $340.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to shift in the light, and while they "appear whit ein the pan," they are, in fact, different applied and when viewed. The brand recommended to apply over a "dark base" for a more "intense color shift."
The textures were soft, lightly emollient but a smidgen more loosely-pressed compared to some of the brand's other shimmery eyeshadows/multichromes. They had semi-opaque to opaque, buildable color coverage that could also be applied with a fluffy brush or fingertip for more of a wash of color/shimmer if desired. They wore between seven and eight hours before fading and/or creasing slightly on me.

Red Giant
Terra Moons Red Giant Iridescent Chameleon Shadow ($17.00 for 0.05 oz.) has a transparent base with multichromatic shimmer that shifted between darker, warm pink, lighter, peachy-coral, and peachy-gold. The color coverage was fully opaque in a single layer, while the texture was smooth to the touch, lightly emollient but not overly dense, so it was easy to work with. There were signs of creasing apparent after eight hours of wear.

Saturn's Rings
Terra Moons Saturn’s Rings Iridescent Chameleon Shadow ($17.00 for 0.05 oz.) has a transparent base with multichromatic shimmer that shifted between silvery lilac, sky blue, and greenish-yellow paired with a metallic finish. The eyeshadow had a soft, lightly emollient consistency that had good adhesion but was still softer in the pan, so I’d use a lighter hand to pick up product initially, though I didn’t find it particularly powdery or prone to fallout. It had rich pigmentation that wore well for eight hours before creasing slightly.

Is there any chemical/color maven who understands how these multichromes are made? It’s so fascinating to look at close dupes from the same brand and wonder how on earth (or the galaxy, in some cases) these are tweaked to get similar, yet very different results.
Phoenix or Saturn’s Rings; I cannot decide on which one I love most! These Terra Moon multicrome shadows look so smooth, almost glossy. Hard to explain!
These are blindingly beautiful hard to pick a favorite.
To sort of echo what kjh said, I’m fascinated by these (not just these 3 but these multi-chrome shadows generally) – HOW do they do it??? I do have to say, though, that while I love how they look and shade shift and love the “magic” of them, I can’t seem myself buying any of this type of shadow (including those from Clionadh, etc.) I guess partly because of my age (that ol’ “closer to 70 than to 60” age group) and also because, for the most part, if I buy a bronze or deep blue shadow (like those you showed the other day, Christine, and which were stunning), I guess I want them to sort of stay that way rather than shifting to orange, hot pink, and purple, like Head Rush and Looking Glass. I do think they are stunning and truly magical in how they transform, but I don’t know that they are anywhere near my comfort zone!
Hey Mariella,
If you like duochrome eyeshadows (which are more common), you may like this style – they can be used to layer and transform a shade and the shift isn’t as dramatic, so they are easier to incorporate 🙂
I own and adore Red Giant. It’s unique in my collection. I feel a mighty need for Phoenix.
