Tarte Glisten Amazonian 12-Hour Clay Blush Review, Photos, Swatches

Tarte Glisten Amazonian 12-Hour Clay Blush
Tarte Glisten Amazonian 12-Hour Clay Blush

Tarte Glisten Amazonian 12-Hour Clay Blush ($25.00) is a pop of medium pink with a hint of warm coral and a golden shimmer-sheen. Tom Ford Lovelust is more orange. Tarina Tarantino Parasol is pinker, less golden. NARS Orgasm is very similar. Guerlain Blush G is also similar. Rock & Republic Call Me is more coral. theBalm Frat Boy is similar in the base color but lacks the golden shimmer and sheen.

It’s lovely and all things pretty, but at the end of the day, it’s one of those shades that every brand seems to have some iteration of. Some are pinker, some are more coral, and others are more orange. They’re often more universally flattering, and coral blushes are always sought after. I like having options, and there is always room for another coral blush in my heart, I can tell you that! Tarte’s variation is gorgeous on the skin, though it wears seven to eight hours on me, which is about average for blushes (definitely not the 12 hours the brand claims). ย The texture is fairly soft, though not quite as soft as their non-shimmery shades. ย It has nice blendability, and the way it lies on the skin looks natural.

P.S. — The blush arrived the way it was photographed–since I really just needed the color, it still served its purpose!

first off, sad face abt the broken blush ๐Ÿ™

but …. the blush look awesome on you! and youre totally right about tarte’s matte (or their version of it) blushes — theyre a bit more difficult to apply and blend. i also get less wear time from these formula as compared to the shimmer ones.

i also think there is alway room in my heart (and cheeks) for coral blushes. ๐Ÿ™‚

Looks very similar to Orgasm as you’ve menioned. Very pretty but wont be needing this when I already have orgasm! Thanks for the review and swatches Christine!

It’s gorgeous but it just makes me want to buy Tom Ford Love Lust even more. I’m on the search for a makeup brand that will give me the “wow” factor.

Very pretty, not very unique tho. I’ve found cheaper, local alternatives with the same color. Also, I’ve heard that humidity greatly affects the longevity (or lack thereof)of these blushes.

Nice pictures btw. I love the natural lighting! ๐Ÿ™‚

Holy crap, right you are. Well there goes my thoughts on actually saving money… now I feel like I *must* own this one as well!

Thanks for the responses btw – it was greatly appreciated.

Weird. I got a small size of this before they released the new collection of colors in this blush line.

It was in the Radiant & Rested kit, but my version is SUPER glittery. I mean chunks of gold glitter that could rival UD’s Midnight Cowboy. Though, it’s easy to knock off with a tap of a brush.

Glad to see they changed the color a bit for the official release.

You are glowing! I love this blush! It’s one of my favorites! I bought this off eBay a long time ago because it was not sold in stores yet. Yes its dupable but the texture is so different than others… BTW I purchased TT spark of envy & UD el dorado because of u… I love them!

Pretty, I may need to try this. Wearing NYX Grinding Blush in Menage A Trois today, similar beautiful color, but zero staying power! The Tarte one looks much better.

I totally thought the photo of the blush was actually a press photo from Tarte! The color is absolutely stunning on you. Perhaps there is something about the blush, though, that causes them to break easily, as someone else stated; if you drop them a line, maybe they’ll send you another, as a “thank you” for pointing it out, as it may be a flaw in the formula.

There is something wrong with Tarte Amazonian blushes in that they crumble and break easily. The same thing happened to my Tarte Amazonian blush in Exposed after carrying it around in my make up bag. :/

I am wearing this today for the first time. I like the soft flushed look it gives me. I love how their blushes last forever on my skin and I don’t have too many corals in my collection as I lean more to soft pinks, so this was a fun purchase for me!

You know that I love you soo much, I’ve been hooked on your blog ever since I found out about it and I appriciate your reviews so much ! But girl I think you need to darken the color that you fill your eyebrows with, it’s wayy too light for you ! I hope you don’t take this the wrong way and THANK YOU ! Love ya ๐Ÿ™‚ <3

I wore Glisten today, coincidentally. I love it, it’s prefect for summer and looks great with a coral lipgloss. The packaging is so cute, too.

Hey, just wanted to say I love the lighting in this photo. Is it natural light? If so, I think it’d be nice if you used it more often. Keep up the good work.

I love the color! I’ve been debating on trying the powder blush since I’ve been a long time fan of Tarte’s cheek stain sticks.
*Also I don’t know if you’ve ever tried this but you can crush up the powder and mix it with a little rubbing alcohol to make a paste, put it back into the container and the alcohol will evaporate leaving the blush complete again. I’ve done it with eye shadows that I’ve dropped and it works really well!

Yup, the old one that comes in aย kit from Sephora is a GLITTER BOMB, but I saw few swatches of Glisten that comes in a kit from QVC, those has more subtle shimmer.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Glisten because it really similar to R&R Call Me, but honestly I’m a bit hesitant to repurchase this new full size-version because of my previous disco ball-Glisten. ๐Ÿ™
