Tarte Fearless Amazonian Clay Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Tarte Fearless Amazonian Clay Blush
Tarte Fearless Amazonian Clay Blush ($26.00 for 0.20 oz.) is described as a “coral pink.” It’s a medium, subtly warm-toned pink with a satin-matte finish. On my warmer skin tone, it almost looks cool-toned, but in the pan, it’s definitely warmer in tone. Milani Bella Rosa (11) (P, $7.99) is much darker but when worn lightly, it is similar. MAC Formal (LE) is lighter. Guerlain Madame Rougit (LE, $67.00) is similar. Edward Bess Bed of Roses (P, $43.00) is cooler-toned. NYX Peach (P, $5.00) is warmer-toned. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
It had fairly good color payoff, but it wasn’t as intense as it appeared in the pan, and it was buildable to full coverage. The texture was a little drier and stiffer than other Tarte blushes that I’ve tried; it seemed like the top layer needed to be removed first, and then the texture was somewhat improved. It was fairly blendable, and it lasted for almost ten hours once applied (short of the twelve hours claimed, though).

I love this shade. I have the blush that’s a more mauve-y shade that came with the TT Matte nificent palette. I found it to be a little powdery but maybe I need to dig down more as you suggest.
Maybe that will help! Normally I find that it’s usually the reverse – a stiffer top layer, softer (more powdery) underneath.
That lovely, kinda in between blissful and dollface!
I can see that!
I know others have a lot of success with this blush, but I have a lot of problems with the formula and get little to no staying power out of the product. It’s like it disappears off my skin. I also find the formula powdery and difficult to build. I have two of these and they hang out in a corner of my stash and get no love 🙁
Which ones do you have again, Wendy?
I’ve had better luck with some of the original/older shades, but I haven’t liked the new ones.
I’ve experienced the same thing, I have tipsy and I tried amused on, but they were both powdery and it was hard to build up color. Also it was very stiff in the pan.
Amused is one of my sad picks as well. The other is Exposed which I think may be one of the ‘classic’ shades. Stiff texture pretty much sums it up 😉
I like the colour!
Yay!
This is one has been on my wish list for a while! 🙂
Now, is it going on the to-buy list or staying on the wish list?
That does look significantly cooler on you!
Crazy, right?
I ordered this blush earlier today and I’m really glad I did. Tarte blushes are the longest lasting that I’ve tried.
Woohoo! Let me know if you find the texture of this to be different than other shades in the formula. I’m curious if mine is just off…
Coral pinks are really pretty! This shade is no different!
They’re impossible to resist!
This is very pretty on you!
Thanks, Fancie!
I really liked it 🙂
Yay!
Christine!!! There you go again, making me buy stuff I don’t need! 😛 Actually, I have been eyeing some Tarte blushes for awhile now, this one included and I finally decided this weekend (or next depending on how much unpacking I get done) I was going to take a trip to Sephora and pick up two blushes – one Clinique cheek pop and one Tarte blush! Now I’m pretty sure it will be this shade! 😛 Also, I’m not sure if this is the place to ask this, but I was wondering if you ever did blog sales? I have been eyeing the Estee Lauder blush in Tease, it was limited edition and I’m just dying to get my hands on it! I know you reveiwed it a long while ago, and I’m not even sure you’d be willing to give it up (well, I would buy it of course!), but I thought I’d ask. 🙂 Same goes with any of the NARS blushes from the Final Cut collection! xoxo
Hi!
I don’t do blog sales – I either keep or donate! 🙂
Very pretty, i love blush colors like these!
They’re really great for summer!
I love Tarte blushes. I don’t own this one though so maybe it is different. Of the Tarte blushes I own, I love the powder formula they use and they are really long lasting on me!
What are your must-have Tarte blushes, Cat?
This was my first Tarte blush though I still haven’t really used it yet (got distracted by The Balm’s blushes haha). The top stiff layer is really annoying. I swirled and swirled my brush but couldn’t get much color out of it. Guess I just have to keep at it and wear it down to the powder. The tester of this color in store was lovely!
Okay, at least I’m not totally crazy, because I don’t remember the past ones being like that, but this one and the last one I bought were!
The shade is prettyy nice but yes the formula needs to be built up… I really like the embossed pattern of these Tarte Blushes.. 🙂
They are pretty!
This is pretty, but I’m just going to go back over here in my corner and continue stroking my Clinique Peach Pop compact…
…precioussssss…..
*twitch*
Peach Pop is way better <3
I think Blissful is prettier than this one, leans slightly warmer, right?
Yup, warmer!
I love this shade, but I think I am the one person out there who finds these blushes to be over-hyped.
I find them over-hyped, though in general, I like them (but it’s not love).
Good grief this is stunning!
As a side note, this has been happening for a few weeks now, but is anyone else having a problem with this site suddenly auto-scrolling as it loads pictures? It moves my cursor up or down the page as it pleases and shifts the entire window at the same time. It’s really… well disorienting actually. My best guess is that it’s something in the right hand side bar that’s causing it. Even as I was typing this comment, the entire site shifted downwards even as I was typing in content. It’s really weird. It’s like suddenly losing your place on the site because someone decided to use the mouse scroll wheel while you weren’t looking.
Hi Chelle!
I will pass it onto Shaun, though I don’t know what could be doing it. What browser/computer/system are you using?
Good lord, I wish I could send you a video of my computer screen as this happens. Using Chrome (Version 34.0.1847.116 m which is up to date), Windows XP SP3 1.83GHz, 2 gigs ram. This is a work computer, so not a beast by any means, but this problem also replicates on my macbook pro at home and on my Windows 7 desktop (also at home). The only consistent thing across all those platforms is Chrome as the browser. I just tried the site on Firefox and the issue doesn’t seem to replicate. Very, very odd.
Although oddly, now I’m getting connection issues with the following page: http://www.temptalia.com/page/2 (on both browsers) annnnnnd again as I tried to submit this comment.
I believe you for sure! I just have no idea why. I’m using Chrome on my desktop, and I was using the site a bit here and there on a MacBook using Chrome as well and didn’t have any issues. Will definitely look into it!
Okay, firstly, your face looks radiant, soft, and just beautiful! Secondly, while I like these, my skin has never approved, so I cannot wear the Tarte Amazonian Blushes. But this is gorgeous for all who can!
Thank you!
Sorry to hear these didn’t work well on you!
You’re so welcome! <3 And thank you as well, though many other blushes accompany me happily. 🙂
