Tarte Blushing Bride Amazonian Clay Blush Review, Photos, Swatches

Tarte Blushing Bride Amazonian Clay Blush

Tarte Blushing Bride Amazonian Clay Blush ($25.00 for 0.20 oz.) is described as a “plummy rose.” It’s a muted raspberry–it’s a bit pink as well as plum–with very faint shimmer. The shimmer looks more obvious in the pan, but it doesn’t translate much onto the skin–there’s a definite sheen once applied, but it’s not a heavy shimmer, so pores are not emphasized.  It packs a punch if you aren’t careful!  Blushing Bride is richly pigmented but can be applied softly and the soft texture allows for easy blending out if necessary.  The hue reminded me of Bobbi Brown Plum, which is a touch pinker.

I had the same wear results with this shade as with Exposed, which was eight hours of good wear, but by the tenth hour, it had disappeared. I was hoping for a bit longer wear, because of the intensity of this color, but no dice! The texture was not as finely milled here, but it was still quite soft without being powdery. I recommend using a stippling blush to apply this color, because it is very intense, and if you use a regular blush brush, you might find the results are too much and require a fair amount of blending out. I also found a stippling brush disturbed the powder less, which meant less excess powder being kicked up.

This looks very natural and pretty on you Christine. I might pick some of these up. I’ve found that lately I am preferring to have a more matte blush and then to apply shimmer if I want. That way I can control where and how much shimmer rather than an all in one product for example like shimmer blush.

What a pretty, pretty colour!! I’m really interested in these blushes but am currently on a no buy for at least the next 6 months. I’m doing project 10 pan!

This was the shade I was really interested in. I’m thinking it would require a really light hand, though, since I’m NC15. Don’t want clown cheeks. That’s a lovely gloss you’re wearing, by the way.

I was worried this blush would be too plummy for me to pull off. But it looks so gorgeous on you! I just might have to pick it up! What are you wearing on your lips? It looks gorgeous as well.

Has to be my #1 Favorite blush ATM. It’s the first blush over $20 I’ve paid full price for!

Why did you give the packaging .5 of a higher score? It looks a bit cheap to me, but it is eco friendly.

You can pop the pan out of the palette if you so desire, because it is magnetic. It’s a huge plus, but it also spins around a bit in the pan, so it was slightly mitigated. I don’t know why it looks cheap, though – it’s a travel-friendly, comfortable-to-hold, droppable plastic compact with a mirror inside.

Lisa Avatar

Oo, I didn’t realize it was magnetic. I was staring at my blush 3 days ago and I remember thing…

“Why didn’t the company align this blush when they sold it??” Now I realize it just rotated a bit =D

This was my first Tarte blush and I love it.
Btw Tarte claims these blushes wear “UP TO” 12 hours… 8 hours for a powder blush to last is excellent!

I’ve noticed a few comments on how these blushes do not apply well, but I found that if you use the Tarte blush brush, they tend to apply and wear better, for me anyway.I have 5 of these blushes and plan to buy more. I really am impressed with them.

p.s. I love how everyone asks what you are wearing on your lips! You always have the best lip colors!

I own this blush and I really love it! It gives my fair warm complexion a healthy rosy look. I love the faint shimmer that doesn’t show up too much on the cheeks but gives a nice sheen.

This is my favorite shade from tarte Amazonian Clay blushes! It looks a wee bit similar with NARS Sin on my cheek, though…
Staying power-wise, this blush last 8 hours on me too, but I find it amazing, because most blushes last only 3-4 hours on my very oily skin. If most people reapply their lipstick, I reapply my lipstick AND my blush on 🙁
