Tarina Tarantino Tommy Jet Eye Dream Hyperliner Review, Photos, Swatches

Tarina Tarantino Tommy Jet Eye Dream Hyperliner ($15.00 for 0.04 oz.) is described as “deepest black.” I’d argue it’s a dark black, but it’s not the richest, darkest black eyeliner I’ve come across. It’s not soft, and it’s a bit darker than medium black. There is a whole host of other black eyeliners that are comparable; most notably MAC Black Black, MAC Smolder, and Bobbi Brown Black. I promise: updated eyeliner comparisons are on my to-do list!

Long-time readers will remember that Tarina Tarantino’s Hyperliners have been my new favorite since the brand revamped their packaging and product range. I’ve been missing one shade for awhile, and I finally bought it a few weeks ago–just prior to learning about the brand’s exit from Sephora–but it’s still available and at the sale price of $9.  I’m a fan of the formula first and foremost because of the stellar wear and color payoff, and the price point and color range has made it my go-to for several months now.

Tommy Jet wears for eight hours without fading, smudging, or migrating.  The color payoff of this particular shade is decent to good; it’s not as rich in a single stroke as some of the other shades, but it is buildable.

I’ve seen your reviews on these and have been dying to try them! Different ones keep popping on and off the site, so far I have been able to snag 5! There are 2 more I’m hoping I can grab at this amazing price! Thank you fir the tip!

I went and bought 3 of these when I saw them on sale. I got Puppeteer, Ultraviolet and Sparkling Ammunition (I think that’s the name). I definitely did not have the experience you say you do with them. It migrated and smudged both in the inner and outer corners of my eye and it also looked pretty faded after 4 hours. I returned all of them.

Also, just a side note…I don’t know if these are waterline ‘safe’ or not but unless a pencil has chunky glitter in it, I am able to wear most liners on my waterlines so I don’t worry too much about the ‘safety’ rules. And these did NOT want to work on the waterline…there is no pay-off when you swipe them on. So it looks like they definitely aren’t designed for that particular use. Just putting it out there in case you prefer that your pencils also work on the waterline.

If it makes you feel better I bought some of these because of your review and I LOVE them!! I am 46 and have been wearing eye liner for a ‘few” years now :} and I have tried a fair few in my day. These are, without a doubt the best ones I have ever tried. The softness in applying made me worry at first that they would travel, but no. I have extremely oily eyelids and these stay all day until I take them off. They are my HG liners and I am devastated that Sephora will not be carrying them anymore. Seriously, I love this line. So so sad :{

I got six of these based on your previous reviews when you announced they were on sale at Sephora and I am definitely pleased! They are so easy to use and I haven’t had any issues yet. I wore Puppeteer as part of my look for a wedding last weekend and it was perfect. I had no trouble applying it and didn’t notice any issues the 10+ hours I wore it. I’m so glad I snagged these, especially since I’m terrible at applying eye liner.

I purchased Tommy Jet, Ultraviolet, and Broken Doll last week, and I think these are the best pencil eyeliners I’ve ever used. Ultraviolet especially is such unique color. It’s a beautiful dark plummy purple…My local Sephora still carries the full range of colors, so I’m thinking that I should grab a few more probably in Puppeteer and Cute Robot.

These Tina Tarantino eyeliners are not listed on sephora anymore. I loved these and was soooo sad they are no longer available at sephora. Do you know of any other stores online or other where they are still available? Help!
