What type of products are you most willing to try several times to make work?

I’ll keep using skincare products for weeks, even if they aren’t doing anything special (so long as they aren’t causing problems, of course!). I also tend to try base products like primers, concealers, foundations, powders, and the like at least a dozen times before writing them off.

How do you successfully resist beauty products?

How do you successfully resist beauty products?

Personally, I just try to assess my current workload and whether I really think it’s a good use of my review budget – will I get to review it in time, will readers want to see it, etc.

How important is it to you to finish your beauty products?

How important is it to you to finish your beauty products?

Not at all but I live in a world where that’s not feasible for the majority of what I have, so it would be unnecessarily stressful if I made it a priority! What I do try to avoid is buying backups and the like unless it’s of something I expect to actually finish (say, a cleanser).

Have you ever done a declutter?

Have you ever done a declutter?

Yes, definitely! I do them every month or so (depends on when I have the time to sift through things) more aggressively but try to put things in bins based on what I want to do with them (keep, donate, recycle) as I try products so I don’t have to sort through them needlessly.

What are your minimum requirements for an eyeshadow palette?

What are your minimum requirements for an eyeshadow palette?

For me, a solid eyeshadow palette has at least five shades, but my preference has been toward 10 or so lately. I don’t need a brow bone shade or black eyeshadow (I’d rather get more variety and supplement with one of the many existing shades I have for those two needs). I need slim, functional...

What would you like to see in summer makeup collections?

I’d love to see more inspiration from what’s in the ocean… the sea life, coral reefs, etc. I’d also love to see a launch of ALL coral lipsticks in every depth and tone.

What product doesn't work for you that you keep trying to make work anyway?

There are certain fragrances that I have that I want to love, but I’m often so adverse to dominant floral scents that I have yet to come around.
