What has been your most embarrassing makeup-related moment?

What has been your most embarrassing makeup-related moment?

Oh, the worst is whenever I forget to put mascara on. That’s happened a few times, even so far as taking photos for the blog I won’t realize for at least a few dozen shots! I’ve also had plenty of makeup fade, crease, fallout, and otherwise look terrible within hours of wearing it, but since...

How do you handle negative comments from others about your makeup?

How do you handle negative comments from others about your makeup?

I’ve received so much over the years that a lot of it rolls right off my back, but while I know that’s the advice people always give, it is inevitably much harder to practice if you’re not someone who is regularly receiving unsolicited feedback 24/7.

The best advice I have is to remember why...

How do you deal with an eyeshadow that won't blend (but you've already applied it)?

How do you deal with an eyeshadow that won't blend (but you've already applied it)?

Here are my tips… use a smaller brush and take gradual amounts to apply and soften the edge. Use a scratchier brush and really blend it out as much as possible (rougher brushes often move product better than something very soft). Use a better eyeshadow that’s more blendable to lighten the...

How do you incorporate colored eyeliner into your looks?

How do you incorporate colored eyeliner into your looks?

What brand(s) do you feel have become more inconsistent recently?

What brand(s) do you feel have become more inconsistent recently?

MAC seemed like it was getting slightly more consistent but then the last year or so of launches (particularly anything in really special packaging) has fallen flat for me more often than not. Kat Von D has had some misses for me, too, though I’ve never felt the brand was that consistent to begin...

What's one product that you're still on the hunt for?

I don’t know that I can really say that there’s a specific type or shade that I’m really dying for any longer! I wouldn’t even say that that’s because I have everything so much as my mind doesn’t think much about personal wants/needs any more with respect to a specific shade, you know?...

Are there any products you've kept despite not liking them?

I think one thing I really hang onto that I don’t have real justification to hold onto are Tom Ford perfumes that aren’t to my personal taste.
