What are your tips for resisting new beauty products?

What are your tips for resisting new beauty products?

Do you have a look planned for New Year's Eve?

Do you have a look planned for New Year's Eve?

Not yet (I am answering this on 12/14 as I prep the next batch of QOTDs!) My guess is something newly-released for testing, and if there’s nothing super pressing to test… possibly nothing as my mom, dad, and sister will be here!

What convinces you to try out a new beauty brand?

What convinces you to try out a new beauty brand?

If it is backed by a more established parent company or [insert reasonably famous person here], I don’t need as much to convince me (I primarily would gauge readers’ interest). If it’s an indie brand, then it matters what their history looks like (customer service, controversy, and so on),...

How much do you keep up with new launches?

How much do you keep up with new launches?

I try to keep up with the major ones and a select more indie/up-and-coming brands as there are a lot of brands around, so trying to keep up with everything is overwhelming.

What was the last product you bought that was poorly reviewed (or received by others)? How did it go for you?

What was the last product you bought that was poorly reviewed (or received by others)? How did it go for you?

Has researching products before purchasing actually led to better purchases for you?

Has researching products before purchasing actually led to better purchases for you?

In general (not just in beauty), absolutely! Even reviews that aren’t super informative or the most in-depth/best reviews can still be more helpful than not in making a purchase.

What is your success rate on impulse purchases?

What is your success rate on impulse purchases?

I’ll be curious to read your answers, since most of the time I’m purchasing just-released products so there’s not much available ahead of time and my thoughts are more about whether it makes sense to review at that moment in time!

How does price and quantity impact your purchasing decisions?

How does price and quantity impact your purchasing decisions?

As long as it’s a solid amount of product (or else the price tag is quite a bit lower than buying a full-sized, e.g. a $40 full-sized lipstick vs. $15 mini size… less investment), I’m not overly concerned. If I try to put myself in the shoes of a “normal” consumer (and not a blogger),...
