Do you seek out new beauty products when you travel?

Do you seek out new beauty products when you travel?

I think if I was traveling to a place that had a lot of brands not normally accessible to me, I definitely would! (I don’t travel much… at all.)

Does a retailer or store's reward program increase your likelihood to shop with them?

Does a retailer or store's reward program increase your likelihood to shop with them?

Yes. Barring a product being exclusive to or arriving earlier at, I purchase from the place that offers the best discount or reward system (points, cash back, whatever).

What are three things you've learned about your preferences that have helped you make better purchases?

What are three things you've learned about your preferences that have helped you make better purchases?

I’ve learned that I like to build up my blush, so I know that the types of formulas I’ll reach for and use on my own accord are ones that are buildable and very blendable (because I don’t like to spend too much effort blending out cheek colors). I like wearing a billion colors at once, so...

Have you ever put together your own eyeshadow palette?

Have you ever put together your own eyeshadow palette?

Yes, definitely! I haven’t really put one together in a cohesive manner in a long time, though. I usually have all my singles arranged by color and/or finish (sometimes I keep all the mattes together, then organized by color) rather than by a cohesive theme.

What are ways that sales associates have been helpful to you while shopping?

What are ways that sales associates have been helpful to you while shopping?

I like a friendly greeting and brief check in – something like “Can I help you?” and then giving me space to browse/shop. In the context of beauty, perhaps not at the moment, but I also liked when they would say “feel free to swatch and let me know if you want to try anything!” I really...

What makes you leave a review on a product?

What makes you leave a review on a product?

I think I’ve only left a handful reviews over time on any site other than my own (it’s like… I already do this regularly, I’m not inclined to do MORE if it’s not here!). Those rare moments have usually fueled by really loving a product and not feeling like the product was getting enough...

How has your involvement in the beauty community impacted your confidence?

How has your involvement in the beauty community impacted your confidence?

On the whole, more confident over time, and part of that was just growing up, getting older, doing more adult things and experiencing more. When I first started, it made me more confident but then decreased confidence as I became more reliant on how I looked with makeup (especially foundation).
