They need to release more Rouge Gs! I feel like they release maybe one or two a year, and they’re usually just a variation on red. Their eyeshadows need a total overhaul, and I think they could do better with blush. Their strong ranges are foundations, bronzers, and lip products.

These days, I don’t have many rants for Chanel. I’d like them to be more consistent in the quality of their special edition palettes, as there have been some real misses and at $80+, that shouldn’t occur. They have excellent shipping/packaging (the best) and one fo the better loyalty programs (it’s like a hidden feature – I get free overnight on all orders, and I’ve received random full-sized products in the mail as a thank you). I wish their products weren’t scented, though.

I’d love for them to stop scenting their products so heavily (some of their lip products have a slight taste as a result!). I’d also love to see them stop reformulating their ranges every other year, as it makes it confusing as to what is still good/bad/the same. I think their foundations tend to wear well and look great on the skin, and they have made some beautiful highlighters. Their eyeshadows have been weaker for the last several years, but they have been making some improvements.

The one product I really love are their Cheek Pops, but I haven’t loved much else (eyeshadow/lip products) in the same vein. I like their skincare, and I think it’s effective without being too pricey.

I feel like the brand has a good position in the marketplace, so they have strong offerings across categories, even though not everything is a winner and they do make some real misses. I like that it is a more creative brand, and they seem to try to make enough for everyone, too, even with LE launches.

I’ve been really disappointed with their eyeshadows for the last year or two, and it doesn’t seem like the quality is changing (it’s only getting worse). They are still strong when it comes to lip products, and I love their Bi-Facil for removing makeup!

They really do release too much product; I think that with other brands ramping up their own release schedules and just the reality of having even more brands on the map… MAC’s launches are more overwhelming now than they used to be (though I think they’re still putting about the same amount of products, which is a lot but doesn’t actually feel increased over the years). I wish they’d scale back the launches, stop releasing limited edition formulas, and expand more of their core ranges.

I’d like to see more innovation in the range, and I’d like to see a lot less of the same types of palettes releasing each season–why not create a few really great, core palettes instead? I love the Luxe Lip Colors, High Shimmer Lipglosses, and highlighters!

I love their Infallible Eyeshadows, Infallible Silkissime Eyeliners, and their nail polishes; those are the products that immediately come to mind! I also think that some of their skincare is underrated.

The rant? No names!! I need names! I can’t remember numbers at all as product names. Otherwise, I love their more streamlined product ranges (one type of eyeshadow, divided into finishes, for example) that offer lots of shade variety. I also like that their base products are more inclusive than the average brand.
