Sydney Grace Picture Perfect Highlighter Review & Swatches
Picture Perfect
Sydney Grace Picture Perfect Highlighter ($9.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a medium, coppery bronze with strong, warm undertones and a bright, metallic finish. It had an intense glow that was both highly-reflective as well as shimmery, and it seemed to emphasize my skin’s natural texture just a smidge when worn at semi-opaque or higher coverage.
The texture was smooth, creamy, and dense without being too-firmly pressed into the pan, so it still picked up well with less-dense, more typical highlighter brushes. It had rich pigmentation in a single layer, so a lighter hand would likely be the way to go initially and build up as necessary. The powder applied evenly and blended out with little effort on my skin. There was fading present after nine hours of wear.

The highlighters are supposed to be "smooth and pigmented" that "blend like a dream" and "last all day long." The majority of the shades in the range are incredibly pigmented with a creaminess to the texture that makes them a cinch to apply and blend out on my skin.
I was most impressed by how soft, almost cream-like the powders were, yet they weren't too loosely-pressed nor were they prone to powderiness. Some of the finishes are very metallic or frosted, so when worn at semi-opaque or higher coverage levels, they can emphasize my skin's natural texture slightly. They have worn between eight and nine hours on me.

I could see this being an absolutely amazing highlighter on richer skin tones! Like on NC47 or NW40 and up, this would look magnificent!
Fabulous shade for those whom it would suit – I like this shade as an eyeshadow too.
Christine, I see the label on the bottom says “Feather River BODY”. I look in the Formula Overview and couldn’t find an explanation of this. Are these actually meant for the body rather than face? While this is way too dark for me as a face highlighter, I could see using this on my legs or shoulders in summer and I also think it could be great as an eyeshadow for steamy summer nights (this image I have of having drinks by the lake…if that EVER becomes a reality again). But is this meant for body? What does “Feather River Body” actually mean?
The company was previously named Feather River Body! From their FAQ:
“Where did Sydney Grace get its name? Sydney Grace was formerly Feather River Body, but we changed our name to reflect more who we are. Sydney Grace comes from the names of our three oldest daughters.”
They started as a boutique on Etsy and sold accessories, then expanded to soap and body items, which led to making makeup. (https://www.instagram.com/p/BaEkk3HBHjK/?taken-by=sydneygraceco)
Thanks for that explanation, Christine. I guess I’ve never before noticed the photos of the bottoms of their products so that dual name never registered with me before.
