Surratt Beauty Guimauve Artistique Blush ($32.00 for 0.20 oz.) is a light, subtly cool-toned pink with a satin finish. On me, it looks almost warm-toned, because the natural yellowness of my complexion come through, but if you have naturally cooler-toned skin, it will appear more true-to-pan applied. Dior My Lady (002) (LE, $60.00) is darker. Dior Rose (001) (LE, $56.00) is slightly darker, warmer. Urban Decay Blush (P) is brighter, darker. NARS Sex Fantasy (LE, $29.00) is cooler-toned, lighter. Chanel Inspiration (64) (P, $38.00) is warmer, cream. MAC Stay Pretty (P, $23.50) is darker. MAC Well Dressed (P, $21.00) is a touch brighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

The texture of the blush is like creamy silk; it’s so soft and finely-milled that it almost feels like a cream blush, but it is, in fact, a powder. Despite its softness, it doesn’t feel or turn powdery. It was easy to apply and blend, but this shade was less pigmented than others in the range. The color was buildable to about mostly true-to-pan opacity if desired, but unless you’re fair, you’ll need at least two layers to get it to show up on your skin. As the blush is blended on the skin, the finish becomes luminous and glowing but doesn’t emphasize pores. On me, this shade wore well for eight hours before it showed signs of fading.

I find I am definitely not wearing this type of pink blushes these days unless it is more neutral or toned down or smoky muted. I have a whole section of pink and peach blushes in my stash that are being completely ignored. I can see this is a really nice textured blush, but so far none of the shades feel particularly unique or are calling my name.

this looks beautiful on you. it would probably be good for me…i have a lot of redness, so i don’t like a really pigmented blush. i’m also pretty pale so it would probably show up just enough. i’m going to be in real trouble when i get to phoenix!

I guess I expect at bit more colour from a blush, especially in this price range. If I want really light and pale pink, I’ve got 2 or 3 blushes already that sort of fail to deliver colour even on my fair skin – a LE version of MAC Dame, a new Sephora LE blush and Clinique Plum Pop. All were less costly than this blush which, while pretty, just isn’t worth the price to me.

OMG I’m SO excited you are reviewing this range!!! I’ve been so curious about their products and the formulations, but there are like no reviews online. I hope you get to try their concealer!
