The Artistique Blush formula is supposed to have a “naturally glowing finish.” The formula is consistent: the blushes have a very soft, almost cream-like powder texture that blends out effortlessly to a luminous sheen with semi-opaque to opaque coverage (that is easily applied more sheerly or layered for true-to-pan color) and good wear (eight to nine hours). Classique was richly pigmented, and a little went on a very, very long way–this is ideal for someone who needs and wants a lot of coverage in their blush. The texture was incredibly smooth and silky, which made it easier to blend and diffuse, but you’ll still want to be careful about how much you apply to avoid having to really buff it out. The finish became more satiny as I blended and worked the powder into the skin. This shade wore well for nine hours before I noticed fading.
A note on packaging: Surratt’s range comes in lightweight plastic pans, which aren’t ideal for long-term use (particularly if traveling or putting in a makeup bag), as his products are designed to be put into custom palette solutions. Personally, I put magnets on the back of each and keep them in freestyle palettes (like a Z-Palette) as it is more economical.

This is definitely my kind of color!
Yay!
Whoa, they didn’t skimp on the pigment here! The color is gorgeous
They surely didn’t!
This is *so* beautiful! I would have to use a very light hand with it, however! Maybe my MUFE #120 medium powder fan brush would work well (I’m using that with the Moonchild palette, so I don’t get too many sparkles on my face).
A light hand is a must with this one 🙂
Ooooooh this one could get clownish rrrreally fast :-O But I do like the color.
It is a bold one!
Very pretty! I usually don’t do bright blush, but I love how cheerful and happy this shade looks. UD Quiver has been on my wishlist for a bit, so it’s a toss-up between the two. Perfect for winter!
Tough call, but UD’s formula is quite good and cheaper 😉
Yep, this is a winner. It looked great in the PR photo and looks even better “in person”.
That is always a good sign 😉
I’d have to be light handed but that is pretty!
Yes, definitely with a light hand!
This must be one of the most pigmented blushes I’ve seen. Gorgeous colour. I prefere to build, but with a fan brush and light hand even I might be able to use this.
I’m going to sit on my hands so I don’t order this by mistake. I need to buy some Christmas stuff and gifts for others than myself.
It is very rich indeed!
Looks very good for winter. Especially with my Chanel quad with the red and browns, # 268 maybe?
Oh, I bet that would be lovely!
Holy fan brush, is that nice! I had better get the mini Mac, bec if I get this and a z for it, I’d be sliding down the slippery Surratt slope, and all too soon, I’d have a z-full. That’s my downfalling path. Sometimes it is better never to start with a brand. Didn’t both Surratt and Sue Devitt study under NARS? Really ought not go there. Believe I’d have significant trouble, right when I’m trying to pare back the spending.
I find that they can sit in their included packaging as long as you aren’t one to travel or keep it in your makeup bag – if they just sit in a drawer, the packaging suffices (but it is definitely not fancy or substantial packaging). I only keep them in Zs since you know, I have so many, lol!
That’s what I mean….a z full of Troy. Maybe he can sit in my z with old Shus. Once I like something, I invariably have to get it in every acceptable color. Better cosdna it. Maybe there’s an ingredient that doesn’t agree with me.
I only own one Surratt blush, but in all of your reviews they look so stunning to me. I definitely don’t need more blushes lol, but……I’m thinking about it.
Which Surratt blush do you have, Nicole?
Ponceau! It’s so gorgeous.
Pretty color. I have Chanel Chamade and love it!
Chamade is so lovely!
Frustratingly, I’ve been wanting to support this beautiful blush line, but invariably own perfectly good dupes. Maybe the big ‘S’ sale.
It’s tough when that happens… but I am impressed – their range has gotten so much larger and you still have all dupes, lol!
