The Artistique Blush formula is supposed to have a “naturally glowing finish.” The formula is consistent: the blushes have a very soft, almost cream-like powder texture that blends out effortlessly to a luminous sheen with semi-opaque to opaque coverage (that is easily applied more sheerly or layered for true-to-pan color) and good wear (eight to nine hours). Chaleur had mostly opaque color coverage with a natural finish that didn’t look flat or dull on the skin but wasn’t shimmery either. The texture was so soft, silky, and finely-milled that you could easily blend it to sheerer coverage if desired (or use a lighter touch). It lasted for just over eight and a half hours on me.
A note on packaging: Surratt’s range comes in lightweight plastic pans, which aren’t ideal for long-term use (particularly if traveling or putting in a makeup bag), as his products are designed to be put into custom palette solutions. Personally, I put magnets on the back of each and keep them in freestyle palettes (like a Z-Palette) as it is more economical.

Ah, I love this shade! It’s so perfect!
It is very easy to wear!
I like the color a lot, very natural and warm.
Awesome to hear!
Not a good color for me, but it’s nice to know that the formula remains consistent — some of the other new colors are catching my eye!
It’s definitely one of the most consistent formulas – and I think if someone likes medium to full coverage, satin-to-natural finishes, it is well-worth checking out (in spite of its lackluster packaging).
This is a very nicely natural looking shade. A cant-get-it-wrong type of blush. It looks really great on you, very sunkissed and natural!
Thank you, Nancy!
Ooh, Christine, your eye look is gorgeous here.
Aw, thanks Pteetsa!
This is pretty color to perk up dull, pale winter skin
That is a great point, Katherine! 🙂
Very nice!
It is if you like warmer colors!
This one’s too warm for me, but the opacity and finish is really very good.
The finish is lovely!
I love these blushes and am looking forward to your reviews of the new colors.
They are nice!
OMG – I just LOVE your eye shadow look – that is a great palette the Lorac Pro Metal. And the blush looks pretty too.
Thank you, Genevieve!
Pretty color, I don’t have anything like this in my collection. Maybe I’m against popular opinion but $32 for a blush that doesn’t have a compact is pretty crazy to me. I like the compacts. I should probably be on the z palette train but for some reason I prefer just the regular compacts. I can’t be the only one?
Not that $32 isn’t a lot already, but if they put it in a compact, the price would jump to closer to $45, I’d expect. (No joke.)
