Sneak Peek: Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks Photos & Swatches -- The Vamps + Non-Traditionals
Urban Decay Vice Lipstick
Despite being a 120-shade strong range, the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.11 oz.) has more traditional/typical colors than it has non-traditional. I hope they’ll consider adding more funky shades going forward; I’d love to see more grays, pewters, taupes, and teals–how about a true gold and silver, while we’re at it?
Vice Lipstick is a new formula that will debut on June 5th (and it replaces all the Revolution formulas). It will have 120 shades total, with 20 of those shades exclusively available at Sephora (subsequently, Sephora will not have 20 shades–each retailer will have 100 shades in total). There are six finishes, and some you’ll recognize; Cream = the original Revolution formula, Comfort Matte = the Matte Revolution formula, and Sheer/Sheer Shimmer = the Sheer Revolution formula.
Nooooooo!!! Junkie!!!! You were the one I looked the most forward to!
I still have high hopes with it. I’m happy there are more non traditional colors out there.
Ooh that black is black!!
Will the color “after dark” from urban decay stay in the sortiment?
I love urban decay lipsticks and personally i think formulation (and packaging of course) are even better than mac 🙂
Very, very cool. Junkie looks like something Elphaba from Wicked! would wear, in a good way. _I’d_ wear it as well! The whole vibe of this grouping takes me back to the 90’s, when I was a teenager/student ?.
I wish there were even more unconventional colors, but Heroine looks beautiful. I’m always after a good blue lipstick so no doubt I’ll be picking that one up.
Maaaaaan these are cool 😀
Some of the swatches have clumps, but all of these look pretty good to awesome on the lips. Very impressed, since these are hard colors to get right. Junkie (green) looks a little patchy at inner lip, but the pigment and shimmer is amazing. Esp. impressed with Heroine (blue) and Perversion (black). Blackmail looks like the perfect mix of black and dark red. I can see UD issuing LE ones in more unique colors (gray, med blue, med green). Very exciting !
Oh, and Perversion (black), wow!!
Yes Junkie and Heroine look so good!
OMG! Shame looks awesome:)
I KNOW!! I think it looks better in this new formula than in the previous Revolution formula. That makes me very happy.
I’m both saddened and relieved by how bad Junkie looks.
Junkie is surprisingly disappointing and Perversion surprisingly good. Poor Rachel, et all. Maybe there’s a way to make it work; there usually is. Liking both the brown reds and the vamps.
Junkie isn’t what I was hoping, but I still like it. I’m thinking with some help from the Junke eyeliner, it’ll work. My lips are so pale they’re nearly the same color as my skin, so it’ll look darker on me.
Heroine looks hot.
Perversion looks pretty excellent!
Well thank goodness that Shame appears MUCH improved!!! Like by a mile!
I must have Disturbed. Love the band, especially in their most current releases. David’s vocals on his cover of “Sounds Of Silence” moves me to tears.
Too bad Junkie is so sheer! I still love it, but wish it looked much more like the eye shadow of the same name!
Mm yes. That song. I HAVE to get out to a concert and see them live. So I can bawl over that song (and then jam).
Mmmmm. Some of these colors I wish they were more matte, but I might have just be spoiled by super-drying liquid-to-mattes.
If they ever come to the Greater Phoenix area, I want to, as well. My only obstacle is transportation!!!
Off subject, is “Sounds of Silence” from the old Simon and Garfunkel album? Sadly coming true.
Yes, it indeed is, Susan. And the lead singer, David Draimen (I may have misspelled his last name) who usually does somewhat dark metal, does this song the almost operatic justice it always deserved!
The metallic greens seem to suffer across the board though for brands… but yeah may have needed a drier base formula to get that one to look better.
Heroine looks soo good but a dupe fo CP Climax maybe?
I’m also super glad I picked up Blackmail on Friday! The shade looks the same for $13 CAN….. yass….
Disturbed looks super pretty to me as well.
I LOVE Blackmail on either fairer or darker complexions than my own! I’m a bit *too* in-between at NC37-40, or Tarte Amazonian Clay in Med. Honey, for it to look good on me. But a browner, redder shade like Disturbed I can do.
Junkie doesn’t look like I expected, but I dig it. Perversion looks AMAZING.
Junkie and Heroine are definitely on my list! I was hoping Junkie would be a brighter green, but that shimmer is so pretty! I don’t think I can resist it.
I never bought any of the darker/vampy shades from the Revolution range, but it seems to me that these are swatching better than the old ones. I remember wanting Blackmail, but I decided against it after seeing swatches. So that’s exciting!
(P.s. You are churning these out so quickly! Thank you and I hope your lips are holding up!)
I’m so glad Junkie isn’t super-sheer on the lips. I wish it were more pigmented and opaque. I think if worn with Junkie 24/7 eye pencil, and it should be a winner. I’m also loving how dark Perversion is. Blackmail looks a zillion times better than the original version, IMHO.
The black lipstick is the only decent one here…so far…disappointed in this batch…:(
I wish I Could wear colours like this.
Perversion Looks so good. Reminds me of a duochrome eyeshadow I have from kat von d.
Cannot remember the Name.
holy crap !
heroine & perversion look impressive !!!
pretty pigmented & even for such dark shades .
? ? ?
Perversion is incredibly deep, dark, and plush! Wow! Just like how the eyeliner Perversion compares to Zero. I love seeing non-traditional lipstick colors. I hope they will do many more shades if they can execute them as well as some of these seem to be.
Disturbed looks amazing… I’ll also take the green, blue & black.. Take my money!
Blackmail <3
Junkie is sheerer than I thought it would be, I do love how shimmery it is. Green lipstick looks really weird on me, unfortunately.
Perversion is gorgeous, so Black!
Just love Shame – a really beautiful colour.
Gorgeous. The green shade is the only one that looks a little “eeehhh,” but otherwise this a great assortment of colors and more what you’d expect from a brand for “beauty with an edge.”
Shame reminds me of MAC’s Dare You. 🙂
I’m disappointed by most of these new UD lipsticks. I think they made a big mistake by DC’ing their amazing Revolution lippies and reformulating them into these. Looks like they cheapened them big time.
I might have to buy my first black lipstick! I die!
You said the magic word–Gold. I’d throw down almost immediately for a good gold. Or a champagne.
Sorry, not for me. Too old and too fair. My granddaughter would love these at age 22.
I would normally consider black lipstick but damn! Perversion looks awesome!
I would normally consider black lipstick but damn! Perversion looks awesome!
Fantastic job searching them all. It’s making me reconsider my next lipstick purchases from Mac and wanting to try urban decay!
If I smoked, I would totally need a cigarette right now. If you catch my non subtle drift hehe. Disturbed! Shame! Blackmail! Heroine, a blue that isn’t the color of death! But….Perversion!!! So freaking good! It’s like UD’s mic drop. I don’t even care that I’m too old. They will be mine, oh yes. They will be mine.
