Tarte Toasted Tartelette Amazonian Clay Palette ($46.00 for 0.64 oz.) is the newest palette in the Tartelette series and features 12 shades of warm-toned neutrals with some mattes and some shimmers.

First Impressions

The eyeshadows were pigmented and blendable, but there was a lot of powderiness to the mattes, so there was excess product kicked up in the pan (very messy) and some fallout if I was not careful during application. The shimmers were denser and did not apply as evenly with a natural brush as I would have liked; they had to be used with flat, firm synthetic brushes, fingertips, or with a dampened brush.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Hi!! Do you know when this palette is launching at Ulta and/or Sephora? I saw it on the Tarte website but I have 20 percent off everything at Ulta expiring this weekend and VIB sale coming up at Sephora! Thanks! It is a beautiful palette and I have the first two, so I have to add this to my collection!

Wow, those swatches look really nice. I really dig these smaller palette sizes, I don’t get so overwhelmed about what color to wear with them. Much easier to travel with s smaller palette too!

I really like the look of this one. I do like the Tarte palette that I have, so I think I am going to try this one.
I was on the fence about the Naked Heat palette, but I definitely think I like this one better. It will work well with my ColourPop Yes, Please! palette….together I think they will pretty much cover the ND Sunset palette, which I lust after but don’t want to pay that much for one palette.

Second your thought process. Forewent Heat ‘cause it swatched dreadfully at the S commonly known as the 7-11 of m/u. So it could have been just messed up. This plus YP probably will cover Susnset pretty well. This is a classic warm neutral palette that does not lean red toned, though it has different finishes, all of which perform pretty well. I can see this being a great travel palette, and one that plays well with others.

UD Heat just looked too dark to me and all the colors looked too similar when swatched. There wasn’t a good range of color or finishes, it just wasn’t complete. This looks like a more complete palette with a much better range of colors and better quality.

It’s kind of disappointing to see palette after palette of oranges and browns these days. BUT for someone who doesn’t already own tons of dupes of these shades, this looks like it would be a very nice palette.

The color scheme is cohesive and each shade is very different from the next, so I think it would be easy to put together lots of great, warm looks.

I have the Tarte Amazonian Clay Mattes palette, which is very nice quality. So if Toasted is as good as the one I own, it would be a great addition for someone looking for a palette of these shades. And the price is reasonable. Looking forward to the review!

Not bad! I like how it’s a cohesive color theme with very little overlap within, except for Sunset and Simmer. Could work nicely with my ABH Modern Renaissance for my versatility as regards shimmer shades and very deep, rich shades. Even so, I doubt that I’ll be buying it anytime soon because I’m trying to pare down my spending in a major way.

I am sure this will review relatively well and looks like a great travel palette but I find I liked the idea of this one more than the actual palette.

I held off on Naked Heat because I wanted to see how this compares. I do think out seems more cohesive, and the shades look more wearable. The swatches look good, but I worry the formula is too powdery based on your description.

I wish I had seen this before I bought Naked Heat…..although who am I trying to kid? Like I was ever NOT going to buy that one, but I’m having a hard time with it. This looks more user friendly.

This is the warm fall palette I have been waiting for and hoping reviews well. I held out on the previous palettes because they leaned too red for me, this seems to lean more neutral and have colors I am more likely to actually use.

Does the shade crackle look like sippy sippy and the shade simmer look like sassy bun from the swamp queen palette? They look almost identical to me.
Thank you so much for the swatches Christine!

I haven’t put in any dupes yet as this is just a sneak peek! Please use the compare any two swatches tool for side-by-side comparisons! 🙂

Love the colours! I am just wondering, I’ve been feeling like we’ve been super into warm colours for so long now that I’m wondering when the beauty companies are going to make the warm colours obsolete and cool tones the new thing. In the past I always found the beauty brands change up what’s “in style” so quickly so we have to buy what’s new!

So which would you palette would you get if you were nw45ish? the natasha denona sunset, tartlette toasted, or the melt cosmetics stacks? I prefer mattes without the chalk.

I’m not knowledgeable about the Melt stacks, but the Sunset palette is going to be a richer, more vibrant palette over Tartelette Toasted, which I don’t think is going to be amazing for deeper skin (I think it runs a little light overall).
