Sneak Peek: NARS Unfiltered I & II Cheek Palettes Photos & Swatches
NARS Unfiltered Cheek Palettes ($59.00 for 0.72 oz.) come in two varieties–one is a bolder, warmer set of shades, while the other is a slightly cooler, pinker set of shades. Here are swatches of both:
Surprisingly so much more into the first one! With a light hand do you think that would work on fairer skin tones?
I don’t see why not!
Both of these look beautiful. I would normally gravitate to the cooler pink palette but have to admit the warmer one is really speaking to me. I like the Nars blush formula so this is a definite for me. I guess I will decide which one when I buy, LOL.
I have fair/light skin and think that the pink blushes would be a better choice for me !
I do so love a Nars blush palette!
I like how there’s 2 palettes. I thought I would be more interested in the cooler, lighter palette, but the bolder warmer one looks more interesting and less dupes.
Thanks for the sneak peek Christine! The II palette is very tempting, though some of the swatches don’t look that great, so I’ll wait for your review and take my chances with it selling out.
I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say how much I truly appreciate all of the hard work and TLC you put into this blog for us!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 THANK YOU!!!
I can’t decide which one to get out of these two. Help!!!
I don’t have them but based on the pictures Christine posted, I’d say the first one is a go and the second one is definitely a pass.
Which do you think is the better quality Christine? I’m desperate to get one so don’t want to miss out waiting for full reviews but I trust your judgement implicitly.
I’m sorry, Natasha – I put up the sneak peek because I am not ready to review them yet as I just received them late Saturday (did not photograph until today). I’m very sorry to fail you here!
Sorry Christine my job has been insane lately and I didn’t see this but please don’t think you’ve failed me! I was being overly optimistic and thought maybe you’d received them earlier as a PR release or something. You do an incredible job and as I said, the only reason I asked is because of how much I trust your reviews!
You are amazing! I was just thinking – there is no way that Christine can review products i want to buy as fast as they are releasing right now! I had my eyes on this NARS palette, one of the Smashbox palettes, etc, etc. And i come here and see the swatches up already! I definitely like it!
I think i say this for everyone – A HUGE BIG thanks for everything you do! You have no idea how much money you have saved me this Holiday season – with all the eye candy i was temped to buy and then i come here and see the review – and out it goes from my cart!!
I feel really bad that this is all I could do for you (I don’t have any of the other things that released) – I just feel like a total failure so thank you for letting me know that these at least helped you!
Awwww…. I could hug you right now!! It really did help!! <3
I hope Smashbox has the sense to send you the collective package of all their new eyeshadow palettes ASAP. Coz I'm not biting the bullet without your review! XX
You, my dear, are not a failure. Your blog is the most well written, concise review for those of us who are so obsessed with cosmetics. I’m sure you’ve saved us more money than we care to admit with your reviews. And you’ve provided a place for makeup lovers to chat with like-minded souls so I’ll just join with everyone else and say thank you .
I failed to get swatches of key products that launched for Cyber Monday – I don’t mean it in every sense of the blog, just in that particular way.
Oh, I am all over Unfiltered I, most definitely! Would consider getting II as well but Conquest and Power Play look a bit lacking. I shall wait patiently for your review 🙂
I love Exhibit A, one of my favorites.
I like Chic very much but it’s really the only shade in this that would work for me in the first palette (Out There might be okay but at this price ($76 here in Canada), “okay” isn’t “okay enough”). In the second, there are 2 or 3 that are definitely NOT good for my colouring. That is always the problem I have with blush palettes (well, that and the fact that they’re not all that practical for carrying in my purse for touch ups if I “fade” throughout the day).
Only by seeing this sneak peek i ‘m already convinced i need the pink one. I really like the bottom row of the other one but not the top.
Ooh this palette looks so nice! I’m glad NARS put out 2 different palettes that can work on a variety of skintones, although this one will look great on deeper skintones.
Plus, it’s nice to not see Laguna nor Orgasm in either of them. I really like this one more than the other one though.
I hope NARS continues to put out different versions when they release blush palettes.
Love the look of Takeover. But for just that one, I’m not going to buy the palette. Thank goodness for the dupes list.
Gah, thank you so much for these Christine! I always find your swatches to be extremely helpful, and accurate when I compare with my coloring! I’m pretty fair and ordered both – I love the NARS formula, but don’t own *alot* of blush. These look like a great buy/value, and I can’t wait to read your full review!
I can safely skip blush for a while. I’ve gone from Blush Bore to Blush Whore. I have 3 blush palettes in the last few months and got a single today too. SO MUCH BLUSH.
Great pigment in them all! Quite the feat, it would seem.
Of course I’m immediately drawn to #1! Those would all work very well with my coloring, and I am loving Exhibit A for a redder orange cheek. Orange usually goes too yellowish on me, so Exhibit A’s redder base I believe will make this a workable, flattering shade of orange on me and other warmer or dulce de leche complexions such as my own and deeper.
Really pretty cheek palettes, but there is always one or two that you don’t use.
Stop thinking you fail us, you do NOT. Quite the opposite. I’ve saved so much money thanks to your hard work, I have also fond new brands and become more adventurous thanks to you, and I was bold before finding your blog. 🙂
I think I want both of these, but I’ll wait for the reviews.
The only thing I’ve bought before reading your review since finding Temptalia is two liquid lipsticks from Colour Pop, not a huge investment if they had been bad. As for everything else, I wait.
These remind me of the Danmari palette from a few years ago and I can’t wait to receive them. I ordered both. The love I have for Nars is so very special!! ?
Which one for warm olive skin Tones? (Nars Stromboli in the summer and MUFE 117 in the winter)? Thanks!
I’m curious how close Chic is to Sin. I’ve been drawn to Sin lately and now to Chic; but I’m unlikely to buy the entire palette. I don’t go through blushes fast enough to justify a multi-pan palette.
Ooooo Exhibit A!!
I ordered #2 last night. I rarely do that before reading a review or at least seeing some swatches, but I’ve been sold on Nars blush ever since I picked up Sex Fantasy LE. Happy to say, I like the looks of the swatches! I’m also interested in #1. I didn’t think I could pull off those colors with my cool, fair coloring, but Watch Me and Takeover are pretty!
Thanks for the quick sneak peek Christine! ?You do awesome work, please don’t be hard on yourself.?
Just bought the NARS Unfiltered II Palette. I’m awaiting for your reviews though so i will let it untouched until then.
I think it’s a good price point and it will be my first blush palette.
Many thanks Christine for all your hard work !!! IT IS SO MUCH APRRECIATED !
I’m so happy that you had swatches of these up today! I ordered Unfiltered II at first but then I came to your site and Unfiltered I looks gorgeous too and has much more variety. I hope you have time to review them soon! I ended up ordering both of them but which one I keep will depend on your review. I have no experience with Nars blushes so this seemed like a great deal. I’m a light skin Asian maybe NC25-30, do you think the bolder palette would be too much for me?
NARS dials me in a lot, esp for lips and blush. 1 has a great variety; there’s a smaller exhibit a, which I never sprang for in full size, and me first leans away from coral. (Yay.) The variety is phenomenal: whatever you choose for makeup, outfit, or accessories, there’s something that fits! The pinks are pretty swell, too. Good variety as well…but not really being a pink person, it would not get as much love. Summer DI, Stephen Klein, and Splendor in the Grass (yeah, the one that offends so many) are big faves. No orgasm or Laguna? Good one, NARS! NARS blush palettes are somewhere between ATFs and HGs for me. Nice, nice.
I am very pale, but with warm undertones, dark hair and eyes. I think I could still pull off the Unfiltered II because those cooler toned blushes might still look good with bronzey or smokey eyes. We shall see! I want really badly to snag it once it is back in stock!
Christine, do you know when these are coming (back) to Sephora?
I’m not sure!
I am getting the Unfiltered 1 for sure!! Do you know any dupes for Candid and Fame from the Unfiltered 2?? (I love these shades but all the other shades from the Unfiltered 2 don’ t interest me.)
