I find it hard to believe a single person would like all of these different colors. I think four or five would suit me. Maybe if you have a friend with different skin tone, you could split it up?

Maria Avatar

I would! Haha. I have pale cool-toned skin but a « lipstick face »: most colors look good or at least OK on me, and I think I could even look normal in black or blue lipsick. I have kind of a « porcelain doll » look, I can pile on lipstick of almost any color and/ or a lot of blush and still look like myself. (Contrastingly, very few types of eye makeup suit me, eyeshadow often makes me look weird and not like myself.)
So yeah this was just an example of who would wear all of these. But I am not buying this set because I am completely broke lol. I will splurge on it if it’s still around when I can afford it though!!

It is awfully cute, isn’t it? I’m glad I’m not tempted by it!!

I recently bought Ruby Woo in mini size and I have to say I don’t love it. I already own a full sized Russian Red, which is a much richer shade that’s more comfortable and easier to apply. I’m glad I only bought Ruby Woo in mini. As for Stone, even though I’ve tried it on twice and it doesn’t do much for my face, I still kind of want it, but thankfully, not enough to actually spend $17 .

I have all of these shades except 5 ….So I guess I should skip this one…lol. But this is a great set for someone who wants to experiment with different colors. MAC always has done lipsticks well….

Hi! i just bought it in store- they’re available in stores if you are looking for it, the guy who sold me mine said they got a LOT of them so it should last a bit. 🙂

I am so glad I already own all my favorite shades from this collection (Whirl, Rebel, Ruby Woo, Velvet Teddy). The packaging is very nice, but I am happy that it is not tempting me at all.

This is a great collection for someone who wants a nice sampling of MAC lipsticks. Or it would be a good one to divide up with friends.

I first had planned to buy it. But it sold out before it was available for simple customers at Mac website. BUT… I don’t know why they’ve changed the formula of the retro mattes. FOF and Ruby Woo are in my wishlist, but I want the original retro matte formula! I have seen there are minis for 10$. Ruby Woo is retro matte in the permanent mini size. FOF is not available as a mini. I will wait. I’m pretty sure they’ll introduce more shades in the mini size version and I will get the retro mattes (my favorite finish)

This is such a cute set but I have dupable products. I just feel like it’s a lot for a set, they should have broken it up into like 4 sets then it’ll be easier for ppl to choose.

Elizabeth Avatar

I really appreciate that you’re reviewing the minis, even the same colors, because oftentimes companies are accused of making the formula lower quality in sets. I wonder if you can review a Colourpop mini set too, because all the reviews say the quality of the minis is horrible.

Is it just me or does Ruby Woo look a little glossy in the swatches? As far as i remember, it’s a Retro Matte formula. Has MAC changed the formula by any chance? If yes, then it would be a relief to my lips, since Ruby Woo such a beautiful colour but so drying!

The 3 “new” shades strongly remind me of the two nicki minaj and the taraji shade. I don’t think they are dupes, but they are in the same ballpark. Would be interested in seeing comparisons when/(if) they are fully reviewed. Not sure if it is just co-incidence, or just jumping in on what is maybe considered on trend atm.
