MAC Blue Nectar Lipsticks
The MAC Blue Nectar Collection is a launch that features 12 lipsticks and six Plushglasses that launches online June 2nd and will be in-stores on the 9th. I have 11 of the 12 below (the missing one is actually a repromote, Ablaze, which I’ll try to re-swatch this week as I didn’t realize the MIA shade was one I already had; also Barbecue, Heroine, and Riot House are also repromotes) — full reviews to come!
Barbecue is a great repromote, esp for summer. Thought Heroine was perm. Is there any art to the lipstick tops? Oh, I get it. The photo is of your stash representatives.
Yep, Heroine is permanent! They are just standard packaging!
So…if some of these shades are repromotes and the packaging is standard, what’s the difference between permanent Heroine and the Heroine from this collection?
(I’m all for the basic packaging, I like that all my MAC lipsticks match!)
Nothing – they are just repromoting it in this collection.
Just curious, how do you do your lip swatches? Is it one layer straight out of the bullet? Thanks so much 🙂
It’s hard to cover my entire lip in just one pass, but I do my best to apply what amounts to “one layer” not “pile on until opaque” and just be consistent in my application across products!

I have always problems with riot House. Does not Look even on me.
Some nice ones. It will be interesting to see if I have any dupes for the ones I like. It is fun how my eyes went to Heroine with me thinking, Oh! Nice! Yeah, I have it and love it. I like Lust Extract, but have a feeling it might be a bit problematic.
Over all it looks like a pretty good summer edition.
Lust Extract is lusty AF. Need need need.
I dunno..kinda lunch bag letdown for me.. I think I am better suited to the upcoming UD release in the purple zone. Pandemonium comes to mind. Many of these look drying to me. Any hint of it, and I’m total desert lips.
Wow heroine looks so pretty. I’m also loving breathing fire. I got barbecue last year in the limited edition packaging and love the formula. Not sure they changed it? The lip swatch seems to have a tiny hint of sheen to it.
I was really into coral lips last year but this year maybe the year of pinks and fuschias!
Lured In, Breathing Fire, Lust Extract and Invite all look like my kinda shades. I have a feeling I already have dupes for all of them except maybe Lust Extract so that may be the winner for me pending reviews. I can tell from the swatch that it goes on a bit patchy. I just hope it isn’t too bad as the color is so gorgeous

This Riot House looks slightly better in texture than mine from the Kelly Osbourne collection. Interested to see your review!
Ok, so this basically has me dying over here, as I wait for that ginormous UD Vice Lipstick line to drop! But Lush Extract looks just unique enough to have me wanting to try it on at least! Also, liking Breathing Fire and Sweet Venom, which looks a bit like The Fashion Flock, but EVEN and not all lip- line-y.
Intoxica is really nice but for some reason I feel like I have a dupe. Maybe Bite Palomino? Though I think it’s a little brighter. I’ll wait to see the dupes.
I really do love all the colors in this collection, but I either already own or have dupes for all of them. Money saved, but it’s a lovely collection.
The only one that interests me is Lush Extract, but it looks a little patchy on inner lip, and I might have a dupe. I already have Heroine (love!) and the rest aren’t flattering colors on me. And many of these look very cakey on….
I’m usually all about the purple shades, but INTOXICA. Wow. I’m baffled, though, by the lack of blue lipsticks in this collection! It would have been the perfect opportunity to release a navy, a blue with shimmer, maybe a teal…
Sweet Venom !!! Yes. That is a colour I love. I really Love Mac Betty bright and Sweet Venom seems to be very close.
Give in is a surprise. From the Description I Expected it to be a Quite boring colour but it is so nice.
There is no Need to say a lot about the bright Pink colours because I buy every bright Pink !!!! LOVE !!!!!
Really good collection. Barbecue looks better than it was in my mind. Have to search it out of my lipstick Box and try again.

Didn’t MAC just released very similar shades to Breathing Fire and Invite Intrigue in the Flamingo Park collection? They have been releasing a lot of Flat Out Fabulous and All Fired Up similars. It’s time to get their creativity adjusted… just saying it 😛
Courting Seduction, Lured In. PURPLES BABY! YEA! Love ’em. Except lured in looks really similar to NYX macaron lipstick in violet soooo… maybe just seduction then..

It’s been said before, but I’ll say it again, why call it Blue Nectar if there are no blues? Seems like a missed opportunity. But regardless of the weird naming choice, these are great colors. Barbeque is gorgeous (and it’s making me hungry), and Invite Intrigue is aptly named.
I still have a bad taste in my mouth from the “vibe tribe” collection, but I might get over it and get one of these.
I’m sitting here, going “Heroine looks nice,” but even without a dupe list, I’m 99% sure I’ve more than one dupe for Heroine. XD
Heroine is permanent anyway. There are already swatches and dupes on this site.
Barbecue , Breathing Fire and Intoxica look promising! Love these colors! Might pick up one, too bad they don’t have theme packaging though. But not following why they are called Blue Nectar lipsticks??
lust extract is the stand–out shade for me in this collection , but i feel like it looks very similar to gunner .

All these colours are so nice, and a majority of them are right up my alley, but I’m almost positive I have dupes for all the ones I like. I’ll save my $$ for some of the more unique UD colours.
I can’t believe MAC came out with Intoxica just as I purchased Bite Beauty Radish last week! To me they appear quite similar (btw, this colour is so gorgeous for summer!). However, Bite’s formula isn’t working for me (lots of transfer and colour not staying true to shade during wear), so I might just return and purchase the similar MAC shade. I’m always happy with my MAC lipsticks and saving some $ is always a good thing.
Also, Invite Intrigue looks very close to Have Your Cake from Flamingo Park. I wonder just how similar they are? I’m anxiously awaiting the reviews on these Christine.
But, I’m just loving this collection and it will require some serious restraint not to load up here.
Do you think courting seduction is a dupe for viva glam nicki 2?! I’ve been searching for a perfect one forever!
