Totally agree with you Alecto; they broke it down perfectly between cool and warm.

I think it is a cohesive collection which also lets transpire the inspiration behind it: the gorgeous colour of the Japanese Plum flower (ume) – an early bloomer, the soft translucency and texture of the Japanese traditional paper (washi), the vibrant colours found in the K-Pop makeup, all these combined with elements of the traditional Chanel makeup. It is said that Lucia Pica, the creative director, wanted a collection that draws light to the face, reflects the transition to the summer while echoing the softness and feminine beauty of Chanel makeup. From this point of view, I think the collection is cohesive. Is there something new, groundbreaking in this collection? I don’t think so. But if the quality is there, it allows one to recreate an effortless balance of softness, vibrancy and light, imho :).

I think Tweed Cherry Blossom looks lovely! So torn as I plan to get the entire Min Liu & MAC collab and they echo the same shade. Although I suppose I can justify as one is powder and the other cream…. (Honestly, I would probably also re-purpose the Min Liu eye duo for blush too though….) Anxious to hear your thought on this (the Chanel) launch!

Michele, I’m eyeing the MAC Min Liu collection as well, especially their Pearlmatte Face Powder. The advantage with MAC ML Pearlmatte would be the fact that you can play with each shade or swirl all three of them. Also, one shade can be used as a highlighter. However, from the swatches I’ve seen, you don’t get the same overall colour as with Chanel Tweed Cherry Blossom; the red in the MAC ML is warmer, more of an orange-based red.

The lip gloss looks like it will rate very low I don’t like the way it looks on the lips at all. It looks like it is separating and it is also too bright. The highlighting powder looks pretty & the shadows but nothing that grabs me or makes me want to go out and purchase. The only thing that is really pretty is the Tweed Coralline Les Tissages but nothing in this collection excites me at all. Which is a good thing for my wallet.

I am a sucker for Chanel. If they score well then both eye palettes, both blushes and the highlighter will be mine. I thought there might be Stylos with this but maybe not this collection. Can’t wait to see your reviews. I am headed to Seattle soon and hope to see them in person but if you have reviewed before I leave then I will order online. Thanks for the sneak peaks, Christine.

Haven’t gotten a Chanel quad in ages. Highly tempted by lumiere. Maybe it’s time. Far more me than Empreinte, aka the gold standard! Lots of the colors would do well with other palettes, too. Nice!

I have a weakness for Chanel seasonal collections and this is no exception. The Jardins de Lumiere quad will have to come home with me – the gray and aubergine colors are different and a lovely combination- and will suite my coloring well. I purchased last Spring’s Tisse Dimensions and the Summer Emprent de something or another and will add this new quad to my stash. Wonder if it is LE; will go back to review. The Extract de Gloss is also lovely as are the blushes but I am limiting my spending on lips and cheeks as I have way too many already. But I can’t resist the quad.
I am doomed as I can’t resist Chanel. I was very disappointed when they changed the quad eyeshadow formulation to these round pans as I didn’t think they would be as pigmented and easily applied as the older formula but I was wrong. This new formula is wonderful to use – buildable, blendable and lasts all day.
Can’t wait for your review of Jardins de Lumiere, Miss Christine; I will wait to read it before making my purchase as you and I are skkntkne color twins.
Thank you!

Jardin de Lumieres is so calling my name and I’m still interested in the cooler blush but looking at the swatch of it, I think I have dupes so maybe this won’t be my first Tweed blush after all (or maybe it will…) There is something really bright and springtime-y about the colours and it’s so nice to see as we await what might be a dreadful snowstorm right in the middle of March Break – boooo!

I purchased the Chanel Plisse Lumiere de Chanel Illuminating Powder and it is stunning. This Illuminator is great on all skin tones with or without makeup. My skin is fair and it blends right in and leaves this glow on your upper cheek. I love the temptalia website Thank you for doing all these swatches and review. These are really appreciated by many. Have a great day!!!

I had the Tweed Coralline blush from the first time Chanel released the tweed blushes, which I believe was in the early 2000’s. I remember liking it a lot but I ended up giving it away when I had to make room for newer coral blushes in my stash! The shadow quads both look gorgeous as well.
