Sneak Peek: Bite Beauty The Lip Pencils Photos & Swatches

Bite Beauty #036 The Lip Pencil
Bite Beauty #036 The Lip Pencil

Bite Beauty The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) released a week or two ago, and it is available in 22 shades. I really hope they’ll expand the range, as a lot of these were very similar to each other (slightly lighter/darker, warmer/cooler) and don’t actually cover the entire range of Bite lip colors yet–there’s a noticeable lack of beige/peach, brighter coral/fuchsia, orange, red, and brown shades (along with Bite’s more one-off shades like Kale and Squid Ink).

Here are the shades that didn’t have a great matching liner: Porcini, Cremini, Portobello, Enoki, Whiskey, Kale, Squid Ink, Lavender Jam, Taro, Black Truffle, Jam, Nori, Sangria, Radish, Beetroot, Tannin, Eggplant, Cotton Candy, Kimchi, Gazpacho, Sour Cherry, Spritzer, Gin Fizz, Dragonfruit, Cayenne, Gingersnap, Sweet Cream, Pickled Ginger, Persimmon, Molasses, Souffle. Of course, you can always mix and match your lip liner with your lipstick, and with the full coverage aspect of most of the Amuse Bouche range, an exact match may be unnecessary.

Wow! I don’t think they’ve released a match for any of their lipsticks that I have! Almost all of these look like they lean warm, too. I like the finish, though, it’s not totally matte, but has a bit of sheen. Maybe I’ll try #14 or #26. Maybe I’ll wait for your full review 😉

I get that colors like Jam, Squid Ink and Kale aren’t exactly neutral, but because they’re so dark, they need liners almost the moreso because of it! Kind of a bummer! I hope they expand the line eventually.

I really wish they’d made matching liners for their unique shades. I have all their fun purples and the green and blue, etc and no liners to match. Except some colourpop ones that aren’t really the same. There are just so many pinks here!!! And you’re right so many are so dang similar. They don’t seem to represent their lipstick line well at ALL.

I really don’t use lip liners, and I own exactly five: two variations on “lip color,” one CP cool-ish MLBB pink, a CP red, and one clear pencil.

I do feel like I’d probably benefit from having more, and actually using them (and the ones I have), but it doesn’t seem like an important step.

FWIW, the only BB lippies I won are Kale and Squid Ink, so no-go there, but I might swatch some of these to see how I feel.

Pretty disappointed with the lack of range of colors compared to their lipstick line. I would have liked to see a lot more darker shades to compliment the range of reds, browns and wines. Way too many neutrals. At first glance the first four rows look way too similar. They did post a pic on their IG account to help you match up the liners to the lipsticks but they are going to need to expand the line drastically to cover the majority of the ones I own. Those 2 dark ones are not going to cover it.
