Sneak Peek: BH Cosmetics Foil Eyes Eyeshadow Palette Photos & Swatches
BH Cosmetics Foil Eyes Eyeshadow Palette
BH Cosmetics Foil Eyes Eyeshadow Palette ($19.00 for 1.58 oz.) includes 28 eyeshadows with pearl to metallic finishes. I am not sure when I will finish testing this and have a review up, but I thought I’d share swatches with you nonetheless. I picked this up after hearing some raves from readers + on Reddit earlier this month! ($19 is the “regular” price, but it’s been at $12 for awhile now.)
Why are there 2 sets of swatches of the same colors?
I’m not sure what you are referring to? There are 28 shades, and I am seeing photos/swatches of each shade but no duplicates.
I think she’s referring to the fact that when you click on the post, there’s the swatches you see if you were just looking on the post on the front page but if you scroll down, they repeat as separates out images.
Hm, that is as intended! The first part is a preview whereas the full post shows you the full-sized images since we assume that that’s useful to readers 🙂
It is useful! Thank you! 🙂
Holly, are you on an iPhone or other mobile device? If you are on a desktop or large screen, the swatches are in lines of 3 smaller photos, then a close-up of each. But if you’re on a mobile screen, they just show up all the same and it looks like they are duplicated. Not sure why they don’t all just shrink down, but I have noticed it, too. It took me a while to figure out!
What device are you using, Julia?
I’m on an iPhone, and it’s a photo/name/swatch – but they are all unique, there are no duplicates in the preview. They later get larger and show the full-sized photo/swatch rather than the cropped version.
iPhone 6. The pics are all showing up the same size, but now that I looked back, the first set look like they are either compressed a little or shot at a slightly different angle. At home I use a desktop, so that’s when i can see that the first set is the smaller lines of images. On your iPhone, do you still see the images lined up next to each other? Maybe it’s my settings…
They are one by one so you can still see details/read the text – I think we tried to have them side-by-side, but they were useless since they ended up being so small. But they are cropped, so they are not the full-size image (which is more/less apparent depending on the original size of the image – it is more obvious with lip products).
Your swatches look better than anything I’ve ever gotten from BH — which has been quite a few of their 28 pan palettes. I’d even tried several of the palettes that got rave reviews from vloggers, but I was always disappointed. Besides, I find that some metallic finishes go frosty on me, so it’s a pass.
I’m surprised at how well these swatched!
x’s 2! Very surprised! Have been avoiding the line as hype.
How would you say these compare to the Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows?
This is a sneak peek – that means I am not at all ready to review these yet 🙂
Shann Shortcake on YouTube did a fabulous review of this comparing these to Makeup Geek if you want to see some comparisons before Christine’s review comes out!
I fell for the hype, bought this palette, and I’m SO glad I did! I honestly find that for me, they perform better than the MUG foiled shadows. The pigmentation is amazing, even without primer, and the wear was impressive (I got through a nine hour work day with minimal creasing). I had a lot more creasing and more fade with the MUG foils ? For the record, I generally love Marlena’s shadows! I also found that these applied and blended easier than my MUG foils (I only own two of them and bought them during the initial release so if Makeup Geek tweaked the formula after the first go I can’t compare them to a newer formulation).
I honestly did not have a super high expectation for this palette given the price point and performance of the one other bh palette I own (the Galaxy one), and I have been impressed thus far. I’ve had this palette for about a week now and have used it in eye looks everyday. That’s just this girl’s experience. I hope this helps answer your question!
These look great for the money! The only thing keeping me from getting them is that the shipping is almost as much as the palette!
Right now if you spend over $25 on their website you can get shipping for $2.50 🙂 So I ordered this palette, the Carli Bybel palette and a brush and got shipping for $2.50 plus it comes with a free travel palette I guess as well 😀
Thanks for the tips Lizz! ?
Christine, if you have a chance to weigh in, which would you get: this palette or the Makeup Geek spring palette that’s on sale now ($30 for 9 shadows)? I don’t have any Makeup Geek shadows and my collection also lacks pops of color…
I haven’t really tested this yet, as I have been testing other things, sorry!
I think the MG 9-pan set has a combination of finishes and fewer “pops” of color; I was looking to buy the MG set because I liked the colors, knew I’d wear them all, and it’s a good discount. I would just do a comparison of which colors you’d like to wear from each, then make your decision based on utility/uniqueness in your collection. i think utility is probably more important; if you go for the BH palette you’ve gotta ask yourself whether you have lots of other nice matte colors to complete the look and whether you’d be comfortable to swap between products back and forth. ((These are the kinds of comments/advice I’d expect from Christine, too))…good luck!
Good point! The one thing I was worried about with the MUG shadows is that some of them have gotten flop reviews from Christine. It’s still probably worth it, given the great discount. I would use more of the MUG ones than the BH Foils
Wow, for the price this actually looks amazing! I might have to get this!
Holy crap~ I love the shimmer on these.. I’m big on shimmer shades, but just for my mobile lid..and hells..a lot of these colours look exactly like my kinda thing. So do not need eyeshadows. Who cares at this price point. LOL
I’ve been seeing a lot about BH as well! I’m glad you put this up Christine! You just sold one! The shipping is a high compared to the cost of the palette. But, altogether, $20 is pretty awesome if this does well . Fingers crossed. ?
WOW, these look great!! Nancy T. was raving about this palette, now I can see why! OMG, look at the pigmentation and all the unique colors 🙂 And only for $12 on sale???? I’m in! I’m a huge fan of their Party Girl Waterproof Gel Eyeliners (have 4 of the 5 colors, super smooth and pigmented, last forever on my oily lids with primer) but have never tried their shadows.
I love the Party Girl liners. So good. I only have 3 of the colors. I need to get the other 2 next time I order.
I need to buy some of those eyeliners! Especially if there’s a great plum shade. Years ago, my daughter used to rave about BH eyeshadow quality, comparing it to MAC and UD. I seriously doubted her, but as of receiving this STUNNING palette, I would have to say it is actually more comparable to MUFE or KVD.
BH does have a Party Girl eyeliner in purple -it’s a true purple, not too dark, not too light, with a little bit of shimmer in there, love to wear it with my purple shadows
Shade 17 is a wonderful color!
I really hate products which have numbers instead of proper shade names 🙁
The swatches look amazing, will have to see how they perform on the eyelids!
I love this palette. The pigmentation and texture are great. I only have one MUG Foiled, Charmed, and I like these much better. Charmed is kind of dry and flaky for me.
The only problem I had was that the glue wasn’t sticking to the pans, and half of mine fell out. Bh sent another, and it started to do the same. They offered me a refund. None broke, so I didn’t take the refund and just super-glued the pans back in. Not everyone who bought seemed to have the issue, so I think it was just a bad batch, but I’d recommend being careful when first opening.
Love the swatches!
Wow, I just ordered this palette and wanted to see swatches and I immediately clicked on your link. I also subbed via email because I love your swatches. I’m so glad I purchased the palette and can’t wait to get it. I also look forward to reading more from your blog. Best!
Thank you! 🙂
Yay, some purples that actually look good!
All I can say is, I love mine! Purples that actually WORK!? But I haven’t used even half the shades yet. Still working my way through, too. So far, no fails, though. Can hardly wait to hear your take on this palette!
I never buy palettes but at this price, I do believe I will – : )
wow for the price these swatches look fantastic!
These look great!! I hope they perform as good as they swatch! Looking forward to your review on these Christine!
Pretty neat….even the blues and purples look decent. Your swatches don’t look too awfully frosty. Quite varied. Grab your UDNBs and get going. This should get a lot of play. Great value, too.
A few of those look great.
Most, if not all of the shades swatched really well! What a great buy for a fun palette! 🙂
These look good! I just love the diversity in this palette! So many possibilities!! 🙂
Wow – what amazing colours and the swatches look great. A really lovely range of colours too. This could be a bargain.
Love palettes that are arranged this way!!! I swear I’m not the least bit OCD, but it’s really off-putting to me to see a palette wich a large number of colors that all seem to be thrown in haphazardly (I’m looking at you, UD — except for the Spectrum palette, where you’ve earned my forgivenss.) 🙂
If I felt like I needed this many shimmery eyeshadows, I’d snatch this up in a heartbeat. Honestly, at this price, I’m not sure I can argue against it, even if I only like half the shades.
Uh oh, i know Christine hasn’t tested them enough to write a review and i don’t have these, but it makes me question integrity of MUG. MUG foiled eyeshadows cost 10 bucks a piece, while BH cost 19 for 28 – 10 times less, yet they look the same to me as MUG. I have a couple of MUG foiled, i don’t like them and don’t use them, so BH can’t be worse
So many pretty, shiny colors! Such nice looking swatches! Such a nice price!
Looks good for such an inexpensive palette! *puts on wishlist*
I wish we had this brand here! It would be a great way for me to try out some more daring colors, hihihi. These swatches look great!
This looks really nice, especially for the price. I tried a few shadows from BH in an ipsy bag a few years back and was not impressed, but these look awesome! It’s time to give them a second chance!
I have it.. it’s gorgeous. Super creamy, pigmented, and smooth. Many of the colors are dupes or extremely close the MUG foileds at a fraction of the price and in a nice palette. Packaging is ok, but one of the shades was loose.. for $12 I’ll happily glue that sucker back down.
I have it and I love it! More pigmented than Too Faced palettes that I have.
Are you going to be reviewing this soon Christine? I can’t wait to hear your take on it!! I’m def going to get it if it reviews well!
I was holding out waiting for Christine’s review also, but broke down and bought it anyway. I’ve had it for about a week and I’m very happy I got it!! For me, they perform GREAT and look as nice on the eyelid as they do in the swatch.
Thank you so much Alicia!! I’ve been holding out too and it feels like forever! Hahahaha. Since it’s so cheap I should just take the plunge! Sounds like a good buy then!!! 😉
If you scroll up in the comments, I replied last night to Lindsay (her comment was on March 31st) with a lot more detail about my experience with this palette. I don’t regret the purchase at all! Go for it! ?
