shu uemura Primitribe Collection Reviews, Photos, Swatches
shu uemura’s Primitribe Collection is a good mix of neutrals and color. I absolutely adored the Painting Liner, which was creamy, incredibly pigmented, and easy to work with. The Primal Color Sticks were interesting, but without testing them at-home, I can’t tell you if they actually last at all. Unfortunately, the U.S. launch of Primitribe doesn’t include everything — we won’t be seeing Spinel, the pink painting liner as far as I can tell.
Primitribe Color Stick
- Rich Earth is a warm-toned, chocolate brown with golden shimmer.
- Night Maroon is a satiny burgundy-wine with more of a creamy finish than a shimmer finish.
- Blazed Gold is a warm-toned, yellow gold with lighter gold shimmer.
- Misty Grove is an olive green with a creamy texture and light shimmer.
Primitribe Mix Blush
- Echo is a blush duo of a pink-toned brown and a dark gold with gold shimmer.
- Rhythm contains a large section of rosy pink and a smaller section of muted, warmed-up light medium brown with gold shimmer.
- Soul is a combination of a satin-y medium-toned orange and a warm, medium dark chocolate brown with pale gold shimmer.
Painting Liner
- Turquoise is a bright pop of creamy, blue-based turquoise with silver micro glitter.
- Citrine is an insanely bright, creamy yellow with a slight sheen.
Rouge Unlimited
- BG 942 is a creamy, mostly opaque peachy-orange.
- WN 296 is a dark, vampy burgundy-red with a glossy finish.
Nail Enamel
- P 980 is a pale, pastel peachy-cream with a frosty finish.
- WN 296 is a bright, fuchsia-red with pink pearl.
Available: August 2009; currently available in-store at Nordstrom and online at NeimanMarcus.com.

I’m loving BG 492 & Critine & Turquoise…thank god there’s no Shu counter nearby me, LOL.
LOL!
Wow. I really want to check this line out, but I don’t know of any Shu counters around me. Hopefully, Sephora.com will have this collection.
I hope it will, too!
I think I’m in love with all three of the blushes. I’ve been meaning to get into Shu blushes for a while. With my birthday not too far off, I’ll be treating myself to some and instead of the regular line it’ll be nice to try these duos. They are so my kind of colours!! V exciting! 😀
Oh, wow! I’ve never owned a shu blush myself!
Wow! Great pictures – thanks:)
No prob!
Lashes!!!
the lashes look really pretty but cutting the strip myself always seems to be a hassle …
Agreed!
Where is SPINEL (medium pink) painting liner? Is was in the previous post on the Primitribe collection… :[
I am really liking all the painting liners and the false lashes!
I wonder how much the lashes are. Probably lots of $$$. I believe Shu’s false lashes are one of the most expensive.
Wasn’t at my local Nordstrom counter, and it didn’t look like there was a spot for it either.
If one doesn’t live in the US, is it possible to order online from NeimanMarcus.com or Nordstrom? I went on to Shu Uemura’s website and started placing my order but it looks like they don’t ship outside the us.
I don’t think so 🙁
This is actually a pretty unique collection. Far more so than many of the other releases coming up. I like the concept but I am not sure if I would buy…
I just want those liners, lol!
Blazed Gold, Turquoise and Citrine are gorgeous!
And Shu Uemura always has the craziest eyelashes 🙂
Haha, I know! They are nuts.
I have my eye on Echo and Citrine. Swatched these at Saks and fell in love but waiting for Shu FF or Sephora FF if these make it on there to buy. Well, that’s the plan at least.
Also, the darker pink nailpolish is p 980 and the pale color is g 960.
Any idea when shu’s FF is?
Last fall’s was in November.
I want to buy whole collection!!
