Sephora + Pantone Universe Marsala Cooling Multi-Stick ($25.00 for 0.63 oz.) is a muted, coppery brown with warm, reddish-orange undertones and a golden sheen. LORAC Unapologetic (LE) is brighter, warmer, powder. Becca Papaya/Topaz (P, $27.00) is darker, warmer, richer. NARS Na Pali Coast (P, $39.00) is darker, redder. MAC Magnetic Appeal (LE, $30.00) is browner, powder. Charlotte Tilbury The Climax (P, $40.00) is powder. Bobbi Brown Sunlit Nude (LE, $26.00) is slightly less red. Bobbi Brown Nude Beach (LE, $26.00) is sheerer. MAC Worldly Wealth (LE, $21.00) is darker, powder. MAC Peachtwist (P, $21.00) is powder. MAC Cheeky Bronze (P, $30.00) is lighter, powder. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

The formula is supposed to be “slightly pigmented to add a hint of Marsala to cheeks for highlighting or contouring.” It’s a semi-sheer product that I still found to be buildable when patted on in layers. Despite the more metallic finish, it doesn’t look metallic at all applied to the cheeks–it had a luminous sheen but nothing over-the-top at all. It is formulated to also provide “light moisturizing for dry or irritated skin.” My skin is normal around my cheeks area, so I don’t feel like I’m able to really tell you that it was or wasn’t hydrating since my regular moisturizers continued to do the same fine job at keeping my skin hydrating. It didn’t feel oily applied, so it seemed just fine to wear on normal skin types (like what I have right now). The consistency was emollient enough to glide over the skin, but it was thinner and had a light tackiness to it initially so it stayed in place and didn’t slide around easily. On me, the color wore well for almost seven hours (which was its biggest downside).

Nice to see a high score on the blush. Sephora seems to have done a decent job with the Marsala collection, but the colors are too warm for my eyes and cheeks. But I love Marsala colors on my lips, so will keep an eye out for those this year, not that I need any more lippies….

Speaking of lippies, Guillermo showed up at my front door yesterday, and it was love at first sight! He’s a sweet boy, that perfect shade of plummy brown that I’ve been looking for. Too bad he’s LE 🙁 so I’m going to check out some of the dupes, but if that doesn’t work, I might have to buy a backup (ouch)

Thank you for mentioning this! I have this lovely skin condition as well and wondered if the caffeine would bother my skin! May have to give it a try! 🙂

Very pretty! I am glad Sephora is churning out some quality products at a decent price point. I have a ton of the Nars multiples that see more use in spring/summer for some reason with me. I have been wanting Na Pali coast which I see you noted as a dupe. But it has a B grade due to mostly poor wear on the eye lid from what I gather from your review. How do you feel about this on the lid? I was also wondering about it compared to Nars South Beach and then I saw another comment on that. it looks close. I find the Nars to be somewhat dry.i guess that is why I go for them more in warmer months. My skin leans dry in fall/winter. I may check this out next time I actually make it into Sephora. It seems like I have been on a mall ban since Christmas..so sick of that place, lol. i just have ordered what I needed!

Oh..on the wear time..is it bad because it’s not long enough for a cheek product.what is a good wear time for a cheek product? just curious?

NARS’ Multiples are actually touted for eyes/lips/cheeks, and they’re best on cheeks in my experience, but they tend to be pretty poor on eyes and lips, so yeah, they definitely tend to get marked down as a result. NARS’ consistency is more velvety/silicone-y, so it has a thicker (but dry) feel, and this definitely feels wet.

I’m do glad you reviewed and posted dupes! I was so tempted to buy it but I own MAC Peachtwist. Thanks for saving me from a “duplicate” purchase. =)

Just an FYI for anyone with acne issues, coconut oil is fairly high on the list of things that will clog pores! It’s a shame that with all the ways they could have made this hydrating, Sephora chose that.

I might like this for travel. I’m always afraid my powder blushes will get smashed. How did you apply this? I’d love it even more for travel if you say you just swiped on!
