Sephora Cougar Rouge Cream Lipstick
Sephora Rouge Cream Lipstick ($12.50 for 0.14 oz.) is supposed to be a “hydrating lipstick that creates full lips with intense color.” During the sale, I picked up three of the shades that were featured for summer to try out the formula. All three shades I tried had full color coverage with a creamy, light-to-medium weight texture that looked smooth and even when applied to the lips. They were lightly hydrating, comfortable to wear, and longer-wearing. I didn’t notice any scent or taste, which is a nice bonus.
Sephora Cougar Rouge Cream Lipstick ($12.50 for 0.14 oz.) is a vibrant, light-medium pink with cool, blue undertones and a luminous finish. It’s a bit more sheen than a satin finish, but it’s not truly glossy. This shade wore well for six hours and left a stain behind, and the formula was creamy, comfortable to wear, and was lightly hydrating. Finding a neon pink has ever been as easy as it is these days–there are so many options just like this one. MAC Happy-Go-Lucky (LE, $16.00) is a touch darker. Sephora + Pantone Universe Radiant Rush (LE, $18.00) is darker. Illamasqua Luster (P, $26.00) is lighter. Bite Beauty Moscato (P, $28.00) is brighter. Marc Jacobs Beauty Gossip (140) (LE, $30.00) is darker. Chanel La Diva (44) (P, $34.00) is darker, more matte. NARS Full Frontal (LE, $26.00) is darker. MAC Playtime (LE, $17.00) is pinker. MAC Outrageously Fun (LE, $16.00) is more muted. MAC Candy Yum Yum (P, $16.00) is darker. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Nylon (P, $18.00) is brighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Sephora Flamingo Rouge Cream Lipstick ($12.50 for 0.14 oz.) is a brightened, light-medium coral-pink with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had rich, opaque color coverage that applied smoothly and evenly, and the color wore well for five hours. It was lightly hydrating and comfortable to wear. MAC Be a Lady (P, $22.00) is warmer. YSL Opera Rose (29) (P, $34.00) is lighter. YSL Caress Pink (9) (P, $34.00) is similar. Givenchy Rose Taffetas (201) (P, $36.00) is warmer. Buxom Mistress (LE, $21.00) is similar. MAC Hoop (DC, $16.00) is lighter, warmer. MAC Force of Love (LE, $16.00) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Sephora Samba Rouge Cream Lipstick ($12.50 for 0.14 oz.) is a slightly lightened medium orange with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had full, opaque color payoff in a single pass, and the color went on evenly and smoothly–no tugging or pulling at the lip at all. This shade wore well for five and a half hours, left a slight stain, and was lightly moisturizing while worn. Tom Ford Beauty Sweet Spot (05) (LE, $49.00) is sheerer, more muted. MAC Dreaming Dahlia (LE, $16.00) is slightly redder. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Kimber (P, $18.00) is lighter. MAC Sweet Grenadine (LE, $17.00) is darker. Givenchy Croisiere Coral (310) (LE, $36.00) is pinker. NARS Lodhi (P, $25.00) is similar. MAC Style Surge (P, $22.00) is slightly more muted. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

I want all the colours.
Which is your absolute fave?
Yesterday I bought ALL the colours!
Ooooh. Samba Rogue is a lovely colour.
Agreed!
they all are super gorgeous on you christine 🙂
really enjoy when you post SEPHORA brand reviews 😀
Thank you, Rashmi!
I bought The neon pink and the coral from the Rio collection…AND I almost bought the same colors from the regular Sephora line because I had no idea. How ridiculous is that, to act like those were new limited edition colors when they were the same exact colors already available? Anyway, looking at Flamingo….I’ll definitely be buying that. I’ve worn Cougar so far and liked it. Great for the price!
It was REALLY confusing that they did that, especially because they didn’t even have the real names up until recently!
These are all super gorgeous…I want them all!
Do you think you’ll cave on any?
Hard to say…I don’t know if I can justify all three, but I don’t know if I can pick just one or two either lol.
Also, my Neon Pink says it’s Cougar….but Flamingo is definitely not Fuchsia? I’m so confused now.
Same here, Shana… you can even see the label on the very first photo of [my] Cougar, which is definitely fuchsia pink whereas Flamingo is more of a coral-pink.
Well I just bought Flamingo, so I guess I’ll find out now lol!
Gorgeous shades! And these make your lips look smoother too! Overall I am impressed! 🙂
They do!
Ooh, Samba Rouge looks like the perfect color for my lipstick-lover Mom! And a great price for such a nice finish! Mother’s Day present?
Sounds like a good idea to me!
Sephora has updated their website with the names. Cougar = pink, Flamingo = fuchsia, and Samba = coral per the Sephora website.
That’s great news! Weird, but my tube of Cougar and Flamingo are the reverse of the “color swatches” on Sephora (my tube of Cougar = fuchsia, you can even see the label in the first photo, Flamingo = coral).
Hi, Christine,
I think the fuchsia is Flamingo and the pink is Cougar.

If you hover over the colors it tells you the names! Also, I love these and I will definitely be trying a few out.
Ooh, they actually changed the names on the product listing (wrote the review about two weeks ago). Thank you!
You’re welcome! Also, do you have any other shades from this line (Sephora Collection Rouge Cream Lipsticks) or plan on getting any? Or do you have any blogs/bloggers on your radar that do? I can’t decide which shades I want!
I only have these three, unfortunately! I probably won’t pick up any more for awhile, but we’ll see (right now, the focus is on new/LE summer stuff).
All three are really pretty!
They are!
I already have plenty of dupes for Flamingo.. wonder if I could pull of Samba.. I very much like! It looks like a peachy slightly flattened orange..but still fun and bright. Yeah, okay, I make sense in my own head.
It’s definitely not your typical, orange-red!
How does Samba compare with the new Too Faced coral liquid lipstick? Are they not even close?
Melted Coral is much lighter! http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=164134&dupe=164004
Samba is gorgeous! But I really love all three shades!
Yay! 😀
Every brand now does exactly the same colors and finishes these days! Good for us so many price options to choose from but it seems there is no taker for creativity!
I think it’s pretty hard to be extremely unique, unfortunately! You’ll get a few here and there, but it’s likely something close exists by someone, lol!
Ohhhh Samba sure makes me feel like dancing! 🙂
Always the sign of a fun shade 🙂
I think I need all 3 of these!! :s I guess it’s a good thing Mother’s Day is coming up? 😛
Haha! 😉
I don’t know why, exactly, but I think the packaging is pretty adorable!
Easy to tell which shade is which!
Flamingo is calling me.
Loudly or softly? 😉
They all look very smooth and saturated, but I think my favourite on you is either flamingo or Samba! 🙂 it’s a close run thing 😉
Aww, thank you 😀 I probably lean towards Flamingo…
the price is really good!
So true!
Those all look quite nice!
Agreed!
Lovely!
They’re fun shades for summer!
I love the entire line of Rouge Cream lipsticks! They’re so opaque and long lasting.
What are some of your favorite shades, Kristi?
These aren’t colours I’d wear but it seems that the Sephora lipsticks are pretty darned good and, like so much of their newly revamped line, just excellent quality for a great price. I’ll have to check out some of the berry and plum and cool toned red shades. It is so good to see that these are such great lipsticks.
These definitely made me curious about the full/permanent range as well.
Oh my gosh! They swatch gorgeously and look amazing on you! I think I’m going to check out Flamingo and Samba for sure – they look jus right up my alley!
Aw, thank you Stephanie!
Perfect shades for summer. I haven’t bought any of Sephora’s lipsticks in years, but these look like fun
They’re worth a try if you can see ’em in store!
A Temptalia Recommends at just $12?
😉
I love all of these!!! The colors are gorgeous, and they look like they apply beautifully!! Best of all, they are affordable!
Gotta love it when affordable products kick butt!
ooooh my god these are so gorgeous! and a good price too!
The price point is awesome!
I’m dying, so I love your reviews on lipstick! gorgeous!
Aw, thanks, Raisa!
These lipsticks are so underrated! they are great, creamy and SO pigmented! bang for your buck ($12.50 each) Love these
What are your fave shades, Kate?
is Samba more neon than Too Faced’s Melted Coral or OCC’s Kimber?
Samba is the most neon!
