Sephora Cappuccino (02) Ultra Shine Lip Gel

Sephora Cappuccino (02) Ultra Shine Lip Gel ($14.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a light-medium, orange-peach with light beige shimmer and sparkle. It had semi-sheer color coverage that did pull into lip lines but the color portion looked even. I think this is better suited for layering to avoid the obvious color gathering in the lip lines. It wore well for three hours on me and was hydrating over time. Charlotte Tilbury Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (L.S.D.) (LE, $22.00) is lighter (95% similar). MAC Keep It Light (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). MAC Overspiced (LE, $17.50) is warmer (90% similar). Estee Lauder Moroccan Heat (LE, $36.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Sephora Perfect Nude (04) (P, $12.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Nectarsweet (LE, $20.00) is warmer (90% similar). Tarte Obvi (P, $20.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Maybelline Nude Illusion (060) (P, $8.99) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Bardot Beige (P, $22.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Urban Decay Midnight Cowgirl (DC, $26.00) is lighter, brighter, cooler (90% similar). MAC Good Lovin' (LE, $17.50) is darker (90% similar). NARS Greek Holiday (P, $26.00) is warmer (90% similar). MAC Water Deities (LE, $17.50) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Kind Kiss (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). MAC Spanking Haute (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). NARS Instant Crash (LE, $26.00) is lighter (95% similar). Colour Pop Fantasia (P, $6.00) is less shimmery, less pigmented (85% similar). MAC Ultimate Dish (LE, $17.50) is darker, less glossy (85% similar). Pat McGrath Flesh Astral (P, $30.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). MAC Fashion Punch (P, $17.50) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. Sephora Nude Alert (08) Ultra Shine Lip Gel ($14.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark coral with copper and gold shimmer. It had semi-opaque color payoff that applied evenly and smoothly. The shimmer is fine and gives it an almost metallic-like sheen at times, as there is quite a bit of it. The consistency is lightweight and comfortable to wear over the four and a half hours it lasted. Becca Watermelon/Opal (P, $24.00) is less shimmery, less glossy (95% similar). Guerlain Nahema Smack (P, $30.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Gucci Beauty Crushed Coral (DC, $32.00) is less shimmery, darker, brighter (90% similar). Burberry Brick Red (P, $29.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus 2 (LE, $17.50) is darker (95% similar). Maybelline Almond Aura (130) (LE, ) is warmer (85% similar). NARS Bite (LE, $26.00) is less shimmery, less pigmented (85% similar). Pat McGrath Bronze Temptation (P, $30.00) is cooler (90% similar). Huda Beauty Boujee (P, $18.00) is lighter (90% similar). Dior Ambre Lumiere (227) (P, $29.50) is more shimmery (85% similar). Pretty Vulgar Brilliantly Sneaky (P, $24.00) is more shimmery, cooler (85% similar). Dior Cosmic (656) (P, $30.00) is brighter, cooler (80% similar). Revlon HD Sunstone (565) (DC, $8.99) is lighter (80% similar). MAC Whoops (DC, $19.50) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). Sephora Cherry Blossom (11) Ultra Shine Lip Gel ($14.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a translucent pink. Sephora lists it as “clear,” though their descriptions seem to be more of the finish type (shimmer, clear, etc.), because “clear” lines up with all of the very jelly-like glosses that are definitely sheerer but almost all have a tint of some sort (which is confusing as well as makes it harder to rate appropriately). It had a light-medium thick, more gel-like consistency (almost like petroleum jelly with less creaminess and more weight). It seems to make my natural lip color appear a smidgen darker (which is what a lot of glossy balms do) and cooler in overall tone, but it is pretty much a clear gloss. It lasted for three hours on me. Benefit Icebreaker (P, $16.00) is less pigmented (95% similar). Estee Lauder Fired Crystal (LE, $36.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Guerlain L'Oiseau de Feu (901) (LE, $30.00) is lighter (90% similar). Colour Pop Bibbidi (LE, $6.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Formula Summary: It is supposed to be “inspired by gel nail polishes” with an “ultra-light” texture and hydrating formula. The range as of fall 2015 seems to range from clear to mostly opaque with a slight translucency that gives them a squishy, jelly-like look with the average shade between semi-sheer and semi-opaque. They’re lightweight, comfortable to wear, and mostly non-sticky. I haven’t noticed a taste, but there is a sweet vanilla, almost caramel-like scent (it is a little on the synthetic side, but I don’t notice the scent when I’m wearing it). Despite having a smoother, mostly non-sticky feel, the formula has decent wear time (three to five hours) and is hydrating. All in all, it’s a nice formula that outdoes a lot of the more recently released new gloss formulas on the market–and at a fraction of the cost–when the shade is more pigmented, but when it is sheerer (especially the lighter shades), there is often settling into lip lines. One thing to note, though, is despite seeming like quite a big tube of gloss, it contains only 0.11 fl. oz. It has an interesting hourglass-shaped applicator, where it is curved inversely and can fit the curve of the lip.

I love your eye look in these pictures!

Nude alert is much more pigmented and prettier than I was expecting. I like it. The other two aren’t really my thing.

OMG, the gold shimmer in Nude Alert is calling me!! It’s going on my buy list. I’m going to layer it with Cover Girl Star Wars lipstick in Gold (peachy orange gold shimmer), and it’s going to be my OTT look for summer!

Nude Alert looks very nicely pigmented! And less $’s than the majority of its dupes, too. But the other two are an easy pass for me, too light in color, what teensy little bit of color they do have.

I love all 3 colors on you! Beautiful! Although, I think Cappachino looks more like a light peachy sheen with minimal gold flexks in it. I can’t see how it could be called Cappacino. I would expect to see more of a brownish hue to it. I can wait for that one. There seems to be to many similar ones out there. Although, Nude Alert is a beautiful, pigmented, peachy color with alot of gold flecks in it. Very pretty, but not so much nude in my opinion. The last one, Cherry Blossom, no cherry to what I can see, just a shimmery nude looking gloss. Nothing special. Sorry. I must ssy though that all 3 have a beautiful sheer, shiny, gloss to them, very pretty if that’s what your looking for!

I never thought I’d like a lip product with “nude” in its name. Now I do, Nude Alert is really very pretty. I’ll check it out on my next visit to Sephora.
Love your eye makeup in the photos!
