Sephora Black, Lavender, Sea Green, Lime Green Matte Ultimate Gel Eyeliners Reviews & Swatches
Black Glitter
Sephora Black Glitter Ultimate Gel Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil ($13.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a medium-dark black base with neutral-to-cool undertones with flecks of silver sparkle. It had semi-sheer pigmentation that was drier and ragged along the edges due to the texture being stiffer and thinner, so it was hard to get a fluid, even line of product on my skin. I found that layering it helped somewhat but never fully. This shade stayed on well for seven hours on my lower lash line.

Formula Overview
$13.00/0.01 oz. - $1300.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "long-lasting" and "waterproof" with color that "wont smudge, flake, or crack" with "one-stroke application without skipping" that delivers "vibrant color." Well, those are the kind of claims you'd expect for a top tier eyeliner formula, but these are definitely more like two strokes--or overlapping strokes--to get more semi-opaque to opaque color. Some shades layered better than others; the "glitter" finish was the worst-performing--sheerer and less readily built up.
The texture was barely creamy but on the stiffer side, particularly with some of the lighter mattes, which I noticed were more prone to snapping off at the tip. These don't contain much product, which is consistent and typical for twist-up eyeliners, so that's not ideal as there isn't a whole lot of product to waste! They tended not to tug noticeably on my lower lash line, but they didn't have as much as glide as more eyeliners have these days (which some may prefer!).
They wore decently; they were relatively waterproof and lasted between eight and nine hours on average. I didn't have issues with smudging or flaking.

Lavender Matte
Sephora Lavender Matte Ultimate Gel Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil ($13.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a medium, pinky-lavender with warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was drier and a little stiff; the tip broke off three times when I used this one, which was quite frustrating given that twist-up liners don’t have a ton of product to begin with.
It had semi-opaque color coverage that was somewhat buildable (any unevenness was hardly noticeable in person, as an actual line of eyeliner!). It lasted for eight hours before thinning a bit.

Soooo……these look like trash……
*clears throat* Allow me this opportunity to share a hidden gem from the drugstore – L.A. Girl Cosmetics shockwave (?) eyeliners. Those neon ones. Yeah, they’re like $4 (always on sale, don’t pay full price), creamy, and they LAST. I use them as a base and waterline color for neon eye looks.
For such vibrant shades, they are not working that well. Many brands struggle with matte pastels and the formula on these is very average.
I’m glad that the two “green” shades are decent enough for me to see using them in my lower waterline. Not perfect, but good enough to get when there’s a sale.
However, that black shade breaks my heart. I love me a good glittery or shimmery black liner for the lower lashline. It can really add a bit of pizzazz, especially to a more neutral eye look!
