Sephora Baby Blues Contour Eye Pencil
Sephora Baby Blues Contour Eye Pencil ($10.00 for 0.04 oz.) is described as a “light blue.” It’s a light, bluish-gray with a metallic finish. It had semi-sheer color coverage in one stroke that was buildable to mostly opaque color coverage. The consistency didn’t drag or tug on the lash line, but it could have applied slightly more evenly. It wore well for ten and a half hours on me (out of the twelve claimed). I really like how unique it is (relative to what I’ve come across). MAC Heirloom (P, $16.00) was the only remotely similar shade I could think of, but it is purpler. It did remind me a lot of Urban Decay Strip Eyeshadow. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Sephora Sailor Suit Contour Eye Pencil ($10.00 for 0.04 oz.) is described as a “navy blue.” It’s a brightened navy blue over a blackened base with a pearly shimmer-sheen finish. It had so-so pigmentation in one stroke, but it built up to fully opaque color with two layers. This shade stayed on well for ten hours. Marc Jacobs Beauty (Wave)length (68) (P, $25.00) is lighter. Buxom Pick Me Up (P, $17.00) is similar. Urban Decay LSD (P, $19.00) is warmer. MAC Blue Stripe (LE, $16.00) is darker. MAC Petrol Blue (P, $15.00) is more sparkly. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Sephora Suede Shoes Contour Eye Pencil ($10.00 for 0.04 oz.) is described as a “petrol blue.” It’s a muted, blackened blue with a hint of green–it’s not enough to be teal, but it’s a “warmer” blue–and a satin finish. It had decent color payoff in a single pass, and it was buildable to fully opaque, smooth color in two passes. This shade wore well for ten hours. Marc Jacobs Beauty Midnight in Paris (LE, $25.00) is more shimmery. MAC Black Ivy (LE, $16.00) is greener. Tom Ford Beauty Exotic Teal (LE, $35.00) is brighter. Urban Decay Mainline (P, $19.00) is brighter, bluer. Urban Decay Invasion (P, $19.00) is greener. MAC Midnight Blues (LE, $16.00) is warmer. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Not for me but I think Suede Shoes looks decent. Thanks for sharing the swatches!!!
No prob, Laarni!
I wish these were a little more pigmented but I love the blue shades. They’re so pretty!
At least they’ll build up in two layers (so many eyeliners don’t even do that).
I’m really liking Baby Blues! Maybe it’s similar enough to make me think I got Welcome To My Loft… *crying face*
Awwwww!
Suede Shoes is a really beautiful shade. And from what I can tell from your description it performs pretty good too, yay.
It does!
I like the baby blue colored one, but do you think it would look good with green eyes? My mom always told me green and blue eye shadows and liners don’t do me any favors, lol.
I think it would! 🙂
I like the blackened blue of Suede Shoes – it’s not as harsh as a black liner and doesn’t scream blue either.
The two dark blues are lovely. I don’t car much for light frosty blues like Baby Blues, althouogh it looks a bit slivery, which might save it.
Wow! Your sailor suit worked! Mine broke and refused sharpening, making a total mess, but the baby blues was lovely! I guess it depends on the batch.. These all swatched really well! I won’t be purchasing again, though, because as Forrest Gump said.. 😉 And I likey my Marc Jacobs! 😀 L’oreal performs better than Sephora, IMO. Actually, many drugstore brands do!
I really like Suede Shoes but not sure I could pull it off. I’ve been lemmin’ Mainline too but I think I like the satin nature and nuance of this color better.
I’m a sucker for blue eyeliners, and Suede Shoes’ tone is just the blue I reach for every occasion. So beautiful and classical! I’m totally in love with it!
I *really* like suede shoes! O_O It’s kind of that ‘stealth colour’ eyeliner that gives the impression of ‘black’ at first glance from decent distance, but somehow seems so much more interesting and mysterious…
Sailor Suit and Suede Shoes are both on my wishlist!
Love, love, love these colours – they are just for me. I think they are all beautiful especially the Sailor Suit and Suede Shoes – that teal has me swooning. They are just gorgeous. Cannot wait to purchase them.
Whoa. Sailor Suit was not what I was expecting from an alleged “navy blue”. I love the complexity!
Curious as to why they’re called “contour eye pencils” and not just “liner?” Is it just a cool way of saying the same thing? I suppose you’re contouring your eye when you line it…
Probably just trying to come up with a new name since there are so many formulas!
Thanks for this, Christine! I adore blue/violet eye shadows and liners, and Baby Blues turns out to be an almost perfect match for my Inglot #429 eye shadow! I only get into Sephora about once a month, but I was there yesterday, swatched it, and snatched it up. Sailor Suit is still on my wish list, I rationalized that I already have the eyeliner in My Boyfriend’s Jeans and the Too Faced one in Perfect Navy and let myself get seduced by Fairy Tale to go with a MUFE ME304, Urban Decay Dragon and Inglot DS610 (OK, so I also love true green eyeshadows!)
Yayyyyy!!
