Round-up: Too Faced La Matte Color Drenched Matte Lipstick

Too Faced La Matte Color Drenched Matte Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.10 oz.) is available in 10 shades. The formula was a miss for me; it felt like an older-school matte that was drying, harder to apply, prone to settling into lip lines, and not even that long-wearing (relative to other mattes).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Looks like Too Faced needs to bring these back to the lab and fix these suckers!!! It’s sad, really. There were several shades I was excited for; Maneater, Pitch Perfect and Bachelorette. There are definitely better performing dupes, is; Bite Amuse Bouche Lipsticks in Black Truffle, Eggplant and Pickled Ginger, is I ain’t cryin’ over here!

I was actually confused why they put this formula out as well as their flat matte liquid matte lipsticks simultaneously… like matte overkill?

An easy pass on all of them for me. Some of them are so pretty, but for mattes, I need a solid A rating if I’m to buy another matte lipstick. This will probably change when we come to summer, during spring I feel like wearing glossy lips.

I’m not really interested in any of these — not surprising since I don’t really care for matte lipsticks — but occasionally a matte will come out in such an interesting color that I want to check it out anyway. I think Too Faced really missed the boat with this one. Too bad, as they do a number of very nice lip products!

Hey Christine,
The photos on this post and the four more recent posts are coming up with incorrect photos on my iPhone. It is showing eyeshadow swatches where a matte lipstick swatch would be, etc.
Just wanted to let you know!

Hey Andie,

I checked on my end, and they show up just fine 🙁 I don’t know the why, but sometimes images seem to load crazily for some – all I can recommend is clearing cache/cookies 🙁
