Round-up: Tom Ford Lips & Boys Lip Colors (2015) Overview & Thoughts

Tom Ford Lips & Boys Collection
Tom Ford Lips & Boys Collection

Tom Ford Lips & Boys Collection ($35.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a set of 25 new and 25 returning shades (from last year’s Lips & Boys collection) that are now permanent. Β The new shades all have shimmer in them, with the finish ranging from lightly luminous and pearly to frosted and metallic. Β I think that there are several really interesting and unique shades in the new set of shades, but there are some that seem very similar to past shades (even from last year’s Boys) or the permanent range. Β (That whole fourth row stands out to me!)

I am really thrilled that all of these shades, plus 25 from last year are now permanent! This gives me and others who like myself are on a stricter budget the gift of TIME. If I were to only get a few, I know that Hiro and Derek ( Jeter! ) are way at the top of my list! ( Derek is an absolutely fantastic shade, plus it’s named after my favorite Yankee, the Gentleman himself ; Mr. Derek Jeter!)

I’m putting Theo, Derek, and Hiro on my wishlist. Then maybe Roman because he’s a more unique shade. Guillermo needs some competition πŸ˜‰

Roman and Stavros are my pics this year, sad to see roman didn’t score higher and was surprised it wasn’t more popular however i guess it is a rather unusual shade. Thanks for all your swatch work Christine !.

It will be hard to narrow this collection down to something affordable and not feel as if I’ll miss something. I’m so glad these are permanent.
I think Malik will be my first TF boy. I have nothing like it, and it’s sort of an unexpected colour for me.
This is the first time TF has tempted me, though I think it might be because the bad lighting at their counter. I don’t know if its intentional, but looking at the eyeshadows isn’t fun as they look so much alike, the lipsticks aren’t really displayed in a good way, I think. Not far from the TF counter is the YSL counter, bathing in glorious light making every colour pop.
The little mysteries I find in department stores. (And it’s probably just me being weird.) Sorry for going a bit OT.

Christine let me first say I love your job! and secondly, you did a great job here. I want that entire first row and a smattering of a few others like Tony and Joaquin, they could come home with me.

Its the compact size that sold me! I’d rather have the opportunity to wear 2 different colors than to spend nearly the same amount of money on one luxury lippie that I’ll never finish. Right now I’m into all the dark shades, but come spring I’ll go after the lighter ones. Thanks Christine for your great reviews!
